Different kinds of dragons that spawn in the regular world \(^.^)/
I think this would make for a great challenge. Kinda like the better dragons mod in skyrim (or whatever it's called). Because let's just say the current dragon doesn't have much to offer, and it could easily be improved, a lot.
Off hand, I'd probably pick birds. I just posted a reply on Reddit related to some possible mechanics for bird behavior. The OP (of the Reddit post) Sillyblaster suggested that birds could pop out of leaf blocks the way silverfish pop out of stone, which I thought was a cool idea.
To paraphrase some of the things I suggested in that thread and elsewhere relating to Minecraft birds...
You could change the probability of birds spawning from a leaf block based on biome, elevation, and time of day. Or if there were 2 or 3 types of birds, give each a different preferred environment.
Beyond various types of birds having statistically preferred biomes and elevations, another possibility is that birds could enter and exit leaf blocks at will. They could primarily be out and about, being all birdie, and retreat into leaf blocks when startled, for instance by a dashing player. (i.e. A player moving fast, not a player with chiseled features and roguish charm.)
One way to code some simple behavior for them might be to have them go through a cycle of leaving and returning to leaf blocks. Foraging, perching, and occasionally hiding.
For instance, they could start out perched on a leaf block (with air above it), then pick a random ground block in a 16 radius cube, move to it, hop around all birdie-like, and some time later pick a random leaf block (with air above it) in a 16 radius cube from its initial landing spot, fly to it, and perch.
After they'd perched for long enough they could either enter the leaf block for a little while, or go forage again. As night falls the probability of entering a leaf block could increase, and once the sun had set they would remain inside the block until dawn, or until their block was destroyed, forcing them to flee to a new nearby leaf block. Alternatively nocturnal birds could prefer night foraging instead.
When returning to the perch state from the foraging state, there should nearly always be a valid leaf block to return to, since at the very least the leaf block the bird initially departed will be reachable from the same radius as it's landing block, (provided that the leaf block hasn't been destroyed). In more general cases though, birds are likely to fly to a new randomly selected leaf block, causing them to move around through forests over time.
They should also be able to eat seeds.
Also, (and I stress that I would drop everything I was doing and add this myself if it didn't become part of the default code), every time a bird enters or exits a leaf block there should be a little puff of leaf particles. Maybe a single leaf particle or two should flutter down for a successful perch as well.
Deer in the forest's and they would drop Venison/Leather and maybe just mabe we could get heads from them to place on the wall above the fireplace , I could go crazy on the sugestions but theres FTB etc for moar critters , but just for good 'ol Nilla just Deer in the forest's would be perfect !
Also animal gender appearance ,eg-only stags have antlers - haha to much to ask for haha?
p.s (wispers) and maybe avery rare encounter with a shark ,

I think just forest animals in general would be a great idea! Little squirrels that run around and maybe bunny's and have actual blocks that have holes in them so the bunny's have some place to hide it you get close to them. Maybe feed them a carrot and make it your pet
A Sharknado mod Imagine that!
This.
I am an artist. All the art you see on my profile is by me, if it's not I will say so and whom its owner is.
Just kidding, but really I think it would be cool to see dinosaurs in Minecraft.

tl;dr
B-B-B-Bird, bird, bird, b-bird's the word--
Lions in Savannah.
Camels in the Desert.
They would definitely liven up the game a bit even though their uses would be relatively limited.
