Hello everyone. I've started to become bored with minecraft, and nothing seems to interest me anymore. I've done some cool redstone stuff, not as good as Sethbling or AcTennisAc, but they don't seem to interest me anymore. I don't like starting a new world and go punching trees anymore. I gave myself all diamond tools and armor, but still, being OP is not good enough. Servers are laggy for me. I tried recording but it's dumb, who want's to listen to a boring guy that does the same stuff over and over again? I don't want to plagiarize other people with annotations and words that pop out of the screen. Anyone have suggestions on what I could do to help me feel interested in minecraft again? Thanks.
I can't find a credible source of how to install mods for 1.7.
I've done it.
All you do is download the forge installer for 1.7.x and run that, and then put mods into the mods folder that appears in the .minecraft folder basically.
I've played this game for years and have yet to see everything this game has to offer and have yet to come anywhere close to boredom. It's a matter of always looking at what you have and then just coming up with new and creative things to do with it. Minecraft is just as much about being an artist as it is about running around killing monsters and getting diamond armor and weapons. Try starting a new survival world and try to use it as a giant art canvas!
Or you could try challenges. Like try playing Ultrahardcore, with natural regeneration turned off and on hard difficulty. There's adventure maps. You could start building arena maps for yourself and your friends to pvp or compete in. Make some mini-games! If you don't know how, learn how! There so much to this game that you should NEVER be bored by it and you should NEVER run out of stuff to do. It's like a complete artist and game design pallet!
Also, what REALLY helps is playing on a good server with friends. Start up a server, get some friends together and get playing, or find yourself a good server with some friendly players on it with rules and a play style you can live with(shop around till you find the right one. You'll know when you find it). Playing on a server world with friends makes a HUGE difference. It's amazing what you can build when you have multiple people working on a huge project together, all working toward a single goal.

How about leave minecraft for a while? It might help
I like to go unto creative and pretend that I am the overseer of a new civilization. In that notion, I slowly built the landscape according to it's growth, needs and maybe hidden passageways for coups or secret societies, bunkers, cities etc for that conspiracy feel.
Everyone falls in and out of interest occasionally; it's normal. If you download Optifine, it will make the servers less laggy for you, and you could try your hand at a few minigames (there are tons), or experience new plugins. There's really endless things that can be done/built in Minecraft.

I've left minecraft for a while hoping I would forget everything, but it's in my blood.
Mods seem like a good idea, but I'll need someone to post a forum link to download "Forge".
I don't have that much games to play. It's the same as minecraft. I play for a while, learn almost to everything about that game, then get bored.
I guess I'm not really a gamer.

Plugins, like bukkit plugins? I tried that. It's kind of easier than installing forge into your client, but it's boring without anyone to play with and sometimes I lag myself out. It always has the chat: "Server can't keep up! Did time change?"
Mods are installed by opening the version jar (found in .minecraft/versions/-version number-) with 7-Zip or some other archive tool, and dragging files from the zip or whatever the mod came in into the jar. Note that you must change all instances of the version number to something else to stop the launcher from "fixing" it with each launch. Change the folder, jar, .json file, and all instances of the version number within the .json file.
The above is a way to install Forge as well. Forge is, in case you didn't know, a third-party API for mods so that they are less likely to clash with each other. With Forge, you'll probably automatically get a "mods" folder when you launch the modded version (if not, then make a "mods" folder inside .minecraft), into which you put the zips or jars of any mods that require Forge.
I know about command blocks. I know /summon Pig ~ ~ ~ {Riding:{id:Wolf}AbsorptionAmount:1000000000}
Why I don't like mods is because of all the dragging and placing. It starts to give me a headache for some reason, and when the mod just completely crashes my game, I just rage quit. I know I should create a backup, but when? Everytime before I install a mod, or when the mod successfully works. And when the game crashes and I bring in the backup, it's either the problem is still there or I deleted something I wasn't supposed to.

Is that really necessary?
It doesn't create a mod folder.

Then create one yourself If you really struggle installing mods, just hit up a tutorial either on the mod's thread or on Youtube.
