I've only played since release 1.2.5, but before I got the game, I was using the PC Gamer demo which was of like beta 1.3 or something like that I think. I had much, much more fun in 1.2.5 than I did with the demo, even though it was addicting as well. Then again, I'm still playing that 1.2.5 world I started with, so there's less nostalgia here, because I kept my first dream alive, so to speak, haha. Whenever I try playing an older beta version, I just don't feel it. I'm not saying they were bad by any means (there were even things about them that might be argued were better), but on the whole, the game is in a much better state today in my opinion.
With the recent exception of 1.7 being pushed before it was ready (in my opinion), I've been happy with every update since I've started playing. I was slow to warm up to 1.3, and 1.7 is starting to take steps in the right direction. I didn't have any issues with 1.4, 1.5, or 1.6. There will always be things that could use this or should be that (to give just one example, I don't you'd find many people that would argue the slightly dropped render distance of far in 1.3.x compared to 1.2.5 was a good thing, or that the further drop in 1.7 was good, and thank goodness it was fixed), but on the whole... I still think the game's a much better one overall right now compared to back in beta.
I remember bug hanging around forever early in development, and I remember the relief when beds came around. Notch have a creative mind, but he was notoriously bad at following up on his ideas, and the big change that jeb brought to Minecraft was a more consistent development, getting more features complete and bugs ironed out (not that either is done). The newer updates have not been as gamechanging as when the nether came to MP, or when hunger was introduced. But on the other hand, the new features I like I use, and the ones I dislike I don't use and forget about.
Maxim, you are free to have your opinion, but it is just that. Do not heckle people when they disagree with you, please.
Notch is out of ideas jeb is seing the game forkids and puting kids things
Judging by your grammar, you aren't much older then those "kids" Jeb is apparently orienting the game towards.
Plus, it's a game. Why shouldn't it be kid-friendly?
This is all pointless babbling... Notch was an amazing coder for Minecraft who was tired of his power over a third of the world. He was not out of ideas, though. He stated he had ideas to add fish mobs, and the Red Dragon. but when Jeb came to power, these ideas where cut down. Jeb has NOT ruined Minecraft, though. He has added some MUCH needed features, such as new biomes, mobs, and many many more features. I will agree older world generation was better, but that is why I use Better World Gen mod. And if you don't like new mobs, get the CustomSpawner mod by Dr,Zhark, creator of Mo' Creatures, and turn these mobs off.
Since I have been playing since Survival_Test_0.24 I have to say that it took Notch about a year and a half just to add some basic stuff.
On the other hand,Jeb,in 2 years he made Minecraft like this, awesome and creative.
Basically what I am saying is that..:
Jeb>Notch in development.
Sure Notch implemented Sprinting,Wolves and Endermen but who implemented Ocelots,The End,The Nether,Awesome biomes and all the other stuff including The Pretty Scary Update and NPCs even with Notch's updates, they were all buggy especially Wolves.
Every update is useless you know Notch could have stopped at the stone only block limited world version of the game. You are probably nostalgic and anger right now.

2. How the crap is worse? It's better. Give me some examples please.
4. Useless blocks? Please share.
2. Talking about 1.8 BETA-1.6, that terrain was crap, it took them way too long to fix it
4. All 50,000 of the new decoration blocks

Notch was a programmer AND a designer. Jeb is just a man that adds to minecraft every that crosses his mind without thinking the consequences that it will have in the game.

The Nether and the End were implemented by Notch. If you are going to do comparisons like that at least take the time to verify if your information is right.
Also, what do ocelots, your "awesome biomes", NPCs and The Pretty Scary Update have of special? Ocelots just scare a mob that almost never kills you, your "awesome biomes" are just an aesthetic thing that doesn't have any purpose, NPCs already existed and Jeb just give them the ability to trade which is OP (Diamond gear out of paper? Seriously?), and don't get me started on The Pretty Scary Update, because it just added:
-Things that no one uses: beacons, mob heads...
-Things that are plain stupid: experience for fishing and breeding, bats...
-Things that are OP: witches drops, anvil...
-Artificial difficulty: creepers exploding instantly when falling, skeletons and zombies with armor and weapons.
Geez, another shining example of a butthurt nostalgic, trying to make everybody think that the new updates suck. Even if they do suck, at least the new content is free and not a taxed shipment.
If you REALLY think Beta is better, then just crank the version setting all the way down and play the goddamn game. Nobody is FORCING you to play the updates you're complaining about.

I don't particularly miss the "old" mojang. I would say I do sometimes miss the old simplicity of alpha minecraft, but when I do, I go play it. I love both the old and the new. The old, because the beginning of alpha is when I started, and the new because the amount of features extend playability extensively compared to the old days
So... people would rather have an overly simple game with little to no decoration blocks, almost no content added each update, and terrain that was basically just the same variations of mountains and plains with different ground and trees pasted over the top?
With the recent exception of 1.7 being pushed before it was ready (in my opinion), I've been happy with every update since I've started playing. Ok, so says the kid thats like "Oh, I've been playing since beta and I still can't spell"
You are just flaming Crono, and I think he is putting on great points. I honestly bet you started in 1.5. I started in INFDEV BABY WOOOOO!!!!
But really, I don't miss the "old Mojang" because I don't think there is a "new Mojang"
Yes, and Dogs farted rainbows and rabbits crapped out delicious gummy bears.

When did Notch leave? I just saw him at the Minecon...and why did he leave I though this was the game he started?

Seriously, if I wanted to play Left for Dead, I'd boot it up instead of Minecraft.
-Hunger
-Worse terrain generation
-Baby zombies
-Jeb adding so many useless crap blocks and items

Although it took him a year and half to add basic stuff to minecraft, the features he created were balanced and fitted in minecraft really well.
Don't forget the full of unbalaced crap part.

My fan fiction of the game: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1957118-programmer-my-first-fan-fiction/#entry24096758
Okay. Makes sense.
