I honestly never understood the concept of "grounding" kids. It's like "You did something bad, so we're going to take away something completely unrelated to the problem!". How does that work?
"You did something bad, so we're going to take away something you like to show you that doing something bad gets good things taken away from you"
As for the OP...you might wanna go outside more often. A world where solid stone structures can float is most certainly not reality.
Well, this thread actually seems very split-opinionated.
Anyway, why don't you just play on it without them realising? You can just say that you need a computer/laptop for homework (well, that some guy on the forums set you )
As for everyone else telling you to get a life, if you are getting reality mixed up with minecraft you probably should be a bit concerned, but I see that you are one of the hardcore fans of minecraft and I know what you mean by only minecraft being the only place where people accept you for who you are. To be fair, for me as well I prefer video games over reality, but I can tell the difference.
P.S. There are a lot of expressions in this post so I apologise if you don't understand some things.
I like seeing someone else being supportive but dishonesty cannot be used to achieve your goals. It would more than likely spoil what should be a relaxing and cathartic experience with stress and paranoia.
Your parents obviously understand what a big thing it is for you to be able to play MC and other games on your PC or they wouldn't bother punishing you in this way. I don't know why you're being punished but lying to them is a very very good way to lose this privilege in a far more permanent way.

Balance is the key. You need some time away and we understand that. But once that's done? We'll meet you on any server (yes, even factions) with a sword in one hand, and a pickaxe in the other.

I'm sorry but that's the worst possible thing you can do.
Take your punishment and realize your parents always know better.
Punishments are not there because your parents are mean or hate you, they are there to teach you a lesson.
If you take your punishment then your parents will have more trust in you in future, but if you keep causing trouble, lying and crapping all over their life lessons, then obviously they are going to contine punishing you until the lesson sinks in.
...Minecraft is one of my few connections to the outside world... I feel as if Minecraft is reality and reality is, well, fake. Almost like a stupid game that includes school,
I'm sorry, but, that has to be the silliest thing I've ever read on this forum, and that's saying something. I really think it's time to turn off your pc and enjoy some real life. Minecraft is a game, pure and simple.
Yes, I'm sure we'd all rather see young Crash Course here become some socially stunted hideabout. Any level of interaction is good, even if it's not by contemporary means. To cite an 'addiction' is an absolutely superfluous reason to remove a computer from one's life - it is a medium of communication and recreation, I'd liken it to replacing every exterior door in one's residence with a concrete wall - are you addicted to outside? Heavens no, we can't have that.
Just whatever you do, don't try to fight it. Take it lying down, grovel, beg...eventually you'll get x privilege back and do your utmost to keep it that way.
Blame my parents for that. And the whole freaking neighborhood.
I'm sorry but that's the worst possible thing you can do.

My mom got angry, threw a bunch of sharp objects at me, then grounded me. Thank God she didn't find the knife I use for bonsai cuttings.
I think taking away minecraft is a great punishment. 2 years ago my brother was refusing to do his school work (home schooled) because all he did was minecraft, so our parents took BOTH of us away from it for 2 months. Needless to say we do our school work when told.

Again, like I said before, you only get a few good moments out of life. And those cost a lot of money. Or a time in jail for riding a shopping cart down a downhill road avoiding cars. All you really do is just pay money, get money, pay money, get money, pay money, and watch the rich people laugh in your face as they wipe their ***ses with 100$ bills.

"Every time a bat gets killed, a miner falls in a pit of lava while carrying half a stack of diamonds."
Everyone has that phase where they meet minecraft, and fall in love with it than after a while simmer down to an average minecrafter. But I really do think that you need to seperate yourself from the game if you think minecraft IS reality and your prioritize the game over school and learning, well, it's time to take a break buddy. And don't get mad at their parents, although sometimes they might just not seem to understand you completely or make illogical decisions they are just trying to take care of you.
Also, you can ONLY express yourself in minecraft? I kind of doubt that.. you can find a hobby that you really like.
He's saying it is more fun that reality. I can agree. All you do in life is be born, go to school, work, work, work, work, die.

Having a good laugh with your friends in the park doesn't cost money.
Fun does not necessarily mean gaining attention or anything that is illegal.
so can I. It's like a window to another world, like a wardrobe to Narnia. (except the wardrobe is the internet, and Narnia is the MCF. :l)
too bad you get grounded from it so much.

I was born blind, but I've never had a problem seeing. I see through my bending.
People see me and think I'm weak. But I can take care of myself, by myself.
Your parents obviously failed in disciplining you then.
It just makes the child more mad. Just make sure they don't do anything wrong. Punishing them like that just rises their want to cause anger to others.

Right, but having a fun laugh in the park with your friends is practically almost one of the few things you can do. The majority of life is what I said, work, work, and more work.
Do I enjoy the fact that I am living?: Yes.
Do I think minecraft is extremely better than life?: No.
Do I want more freedom in life and not have to worry about taxes, live like the Indians did?: Yes.
Do I want a good education and prepare myself for the future when I have to worry about the challenges in life?: Yes.
Do I wish life was as free and simple as minecraft?: Yes.
Do I have a social life in real life?: Yes.
Do I think minecraft > reality: No.
"There once was a time when you could build your house wherever you want, where you traded and grew your own crops, where you didn't have to pay money to live in a house. Then white man came and improved it."
My parents hate mincraft and they didn't even bother to learn about it. They saw me build a house and they thought it was some stupid nerdy game. They said to play a different game, but they for some reason don't buy any games for my 3ds, so I am stuck with Mii maker.
I thought this was going to be a thread about punishing criminals with Minecraft

Yes. Different types of punishment can be good, but taking away something the child loves just makes them even more angry and mad at their parents/guardian. Doing something like giving them something they don't like such as make your child listen to Bustin' Jiebers songs for 30 mins sure does make them angry, but then they can go relieve themselves by doing something they enjoy.

thats like giveing a killer a gun to kill because he "enjoys it".If it makes the chiled angry than they need to learn that the actions they do have consaquinses.

Sharp objects? That can really hurt somebody. What did you even do in the first place?
