Trolling Notes (tips for begginer trolls on minecraft)
1. Choose a server who's admin(s) don't give a wether or not you troll
2. Don't troll the same player twice, if you run out of players to troll, switch to another server
3. Make sure you troll everyone equally, do NOT hold grudges
4. Make sure not to return to the scene of the crime, unless the admin(s) call everyone there, you don't want to seem suspicious
5. Troll differently every time, or else people will see a pattern
6. If you run out of ways to troll, then just say the hell with it, and O.P. yourself and go on a killing spree
6.1. If you don't want to go on a killing spree, then think of original ways to troll, or consult with me on the minecraft forum

Hold on a dang diddly second, you're talking about bloody griefing, not trolling! Griefing does not equal trolling.
Well, it's for griefers, too. So, it doesn't really matter how you look at it. It also works for trolls too.Really, replace "trolls" and "trolling" with "griefers" and "griefing". And kudos on the "stuck on stupid" insult.
I do not approve griefing, trolling, however is freakin' hilarious.

So, you say you don't approve of it, why are you encouraging it?
You're giving kids tips on how to be terrible people?
Well done, I am sure your parents are proud.
Also, trolling isn't what you think it is. What you're talking about is griefing.
While not the best thing for a player to do, and the community at large despises and disapproves (As I do). This is a sandbox game and while distasteful it is a way to play the game. It could be said that purposefully being bad is a form of catharsis against the restraints society places on us.
Love it, hate it, it is part of the game. So live with it or live where it can not touch you.

If expecting people to show a modicum of respect for other human beings is a restraint society places on us then I am okay with that..
I think we can agree that this kid would never act this way in real life, so why is it suddenly acceptable just because he is hiding behind relative anonymity online?
does anyone else wonder if this is some kind of to-catch-a-predator style sting? I'd pay to see To Catch a Griefer
"Excuse me sir can you explain why you brought a stack of fire over to the server of a nine year old girl? You know that's a technical block don't you? You see in this IM right hear you told 1mT0tallyanUnderc0ver_PI_864 "How about I come over and help you with that item sorter?" What exactly did you intend to do with a stack of illegal technical blocks, we both know redstone sorters don't use fire blocks."

For the same reason that people play violent games that place you as the criminal. If there was not something to it them the GTA series and a number of other games would not be so popular. Now would griefing be a popular activity in games that allow it, like say Eve Online.
Humans in a social structure are made to conform to a specific set of rules and values that society deems necessary to prevent chaos. Adults understand this and unless they are mentally unsound or encounter a trigger, conform to those rules. At the same time the pressures of conforming causes stress depending on how much some one needs to conform. This can be most evident in teenagers as they actively rebel against the conformity in many ways.
Griefing is an extension of this need to rebel, to break past the boundaries that hold us in place and to release the tension that builds. Some people play GTA and shoot virtual cops, some people play MMO's and act like jerks, and some people grief in minecraft. No it is not socially proper, but it is also not specifically disallowed by the game it's self with out external controls. So game wise it is fair play even if it is not proper behaviour. So really, if the devs did not what it to happen...they would put in place ways to prevent it from happening. Since they have not...it can only be assumed they see it is a way to play the game even if it is contradictory to popular opinion.

Yes, yes it is a CL4PTP playing D&D, I saw it in the credits and it took ages to find. But find I did and there it is.
Also, none of that made any sense whatsoever.
Useless things, the concept of our minds.
Griefing != trolling
