Would you prefer a pvp / raiding server that has mini-games, over a pvp / raiding server that does not have mini-games? Or does it not matter if it does or not?
I just recently made that decision on my Faction server.
We use to have Hunger games, mob arena, paintball, parkours, deathcube, etc...
Removed most and stuck them in its own server as it was easier to see what people were really interested in and it was less of a headache when it came down to inventory issues.
Never spread out if you are just starting, try to concentrate on 1 thing then add features as you get bigger.

Thanks for the reply, are there still lots of people on your faction server? And do a lot of people go on your mini-games server?

Factions dropped in numbers after I moved the games to its own server but it removed the clutter of spam.
"Join SG1!!!!", "Play Paintball!!!" etc...
Now I can concentrate on more Faction related features instead of plumping all the games in one server.
This also helps performance too.
Yes most servers are rather full as I have 200-250 players in my network.
Edit: Don't do this if your server is new, have Factions + 1 Minigame.
Concentrate your players to do those 2 things only if not each game will have a small amount of players and they will leave.
Mob Arena or Hunger Games, seem to be popular to start with.

Ok, thanks, I wanted the mini-games to increase players, but the increased performance with out the mini-games is why I wouldn't have mini-games. But without the games I could focus only on the pvp part, and probably improve the server. So thank you for the information
Well, if you have a powerful enough server, then I'd say more is better. But if having a mini-games world makes it lag, then you probably shouldn't have it.

That's true, I think more is better [and will increase the amount of players], but I think more can also mean more lag and problems hehe, thats the main concern.

Exactly my point, only add it if it doesn't SIGNIFICANTLY increase lag, otherwise adding mini-games will mean your server appeals to a broader audience!

Bob: Join hunger games!!! (5 joins)
Jane: Lets play spleef instead (1 joins
Mike: No lets do arena #2 (3 joins)
Jake: Mob arena instead (1 joins) Rest are doing Factions as they don't care for Minigames
30 players split up into all these minigames, trust me...they do not like playing solo or 1-2 in a game.
Scenario #2
Factions + Hunger games
Bob: Lets play Hunger games!!!!
5-10 join, bigger match, more players are seen.
Take my word for it as a server owner with a decently sized player base, too much can make it worse.
I have closed 2 servers before to push my players into 1 instead of many.

Do you mind checking my "Has anyone reported you?" post? It's very important to me.

yea, I would only have a maximum of two mini-games.
You reminded me, go to Minecade it is a big server who makes there on mini games and is the only one that has some types of mini games, for instance there is a Mini game were you can be a terrorist. Not quite. See what I mean and go to Minecraft though

Minecade is a large network of players and custom coded games, kinda different.
It is easier to add games when you have 1,000s of players to join and try them.
When you have less than 25 (new server) it is harder to expand to new games while keeping them filled up.
