Okay. So I had set up a new world yesterday after updating. Thought I'd do some legitimate mining and building to stay on top of things. Dug a mine, farm, and a little workshop. No big deal right?
Well, later on, the search for diamonds was on. Went spelunking and found some along with emeralds and other such generalized materials. Was having a blast. Until the sound hit.
I know about the ambiance sounds. Hell, I'm a veteran minecrafter! But this was crazy weird.
Deeper and deeper into an unknown cave, I ran around looking the same old stuff and ended up near a lava pool.
I started hearing a loud windy noise. I thought it was the livestream I was listening to, but when I paused it, the sound continued. It got louder, and louder, and I started hearing a man's scream in that mess of noise. After 10 seconds of that torturous noise, I bolted out of there.
I know for a fact that it wasn't an Enderman. That sounds creeps me out but this was just awful. I've only read one other description that closely matches my experience and it was from a year ago.
I'd really love some explanation.
Case closed. It turns out Ozocraft decided to add sounds, unbeknownst to me. Get it for a good random scare while mining.

I know you said it wasn't an enderman but are you absolutely sure? The sound you've described matched the sound the enderman makes when you first look at him.
-Enderman Sound-
Sometimes when you look at an enderman, the sound plays but he doesn't become hostile.
There's been some new sounds implemented, but I've never heard of something matching your description. Whenever I hear noises that may be even the slightest frightening, I generally bolt outta' there unless I'm mining with a friend.

100%
I can rest assured knowing that wasn't it. Which frightened me.
The ambiance can be a higher or lower tone. Same with the new endermen stare sound.
Except that ambience doesn't last as long as the OP said this sound did.
The only thing I can think of is the sound of the Enderdragon being killed, which can be heard by everybody playing on a world, regardless of their location. But you said you were on singleplayer, so...

I'd like to check it out....
OH MY GOD ARE WE CRAZY?
No record players
Maybe
Seed: 1987395655

Exactly where I heard it
Yep. I wasn't even playing for more than 5 hours.

Who knows why.
Has anyone else been to the seed and the spot?
Yeah, i'm a little freaked out about caves at the moment...
From reading something on Creepy Pasta...
I kind of want to hear it.

When you hear it, you'll have the sudden urge to stop playing for the night. At least I did.
It was one cruel joke then! The look on my face must've been something close to O_O.
I'll give you a free nothing if you do!
*I was prophesized by Shangri La*%100 percent. I didn't have anything else running behind the livestream

I don't have a clue.
People see me and think I'm weak. But I can take care of myself, by myself.
I was using OzoCraft. But I wasn't sure if they had added sounds. I see different sound files within the .zip but can't access them.
