Spiderwebs- make wonderful smokestacks for fireplaces and other decoration things.
They also can save your life in PvP, falling, and other things.
Gravel is a good thing for Flint, and making redstone traps.
There are uses for every block in Minecraft, you just need to be creative.

Why are you even reading this? Did you expect to get something out of this? Do you really think that with a simple click of a button that you would find something magical or wonderful? Something that could blow your mind in a single glance of it's awesome power? Well if you really want to know I shall tell you. The meaning of life is
For creative, probably sponge, since it serves no practical purpose and it cannot really be used for building as its texture is just horrid.
For survival, I don't know, probably cobblestone, since it's so common, but even that can be used for multiple purposes. I say most of the blocks serve a useful purposes or great decorations items to not even be considered pointless. Even gravel can be used for great roads/pathways and to get flint.
But what about dirt? It may be plentiful, but you can't really do anything with it.
What block would we see everywhere then? Then how do we farm? Sheep can't grow back wool. Dirt is literally the most used (but least realized) block in the game... somewhat.
Sheep can grow back wool it would just take longer than normal and you could make a mushroom farm... So you don't actually need dirt...
But then we have no bread, no carrots, no wheat for breading, no use for seeds, NO SEEDS FOR BREADING, no potatoes, no grass, no flowers, no main surface world block. We need dirt people.
Don't say you need it for trees because the only reason you need trees is so that can make tools but you don't need tools because you have you're fist.
It soaks up a 3 by 3 area, so it does have a purpose.
How will you get anything accomplished without trees? Without wood, you can't get a crafting bench. Without wood you can't get stone. You'll be sitting there killing animals and punching the now non-existent dirt all day. DIRT IS THE BEST.
I would probaly say the most useless block in Minecraft survival is actually a Dragon Egg, yea, it's probaly the most valued item in the game since there's only 1 you can obtain per world, I would probaly think that is, if you're talking about pointless easy to get blocks, I would think dirt would be the worst, but it's still good for farms, but it's so plentiful, it's basicly pointless, but I can't really suggest any real pointless survival unless for that.
I agree with that. Lapis lazuli blocks serve no purpose unless you're decorating. The only actually GOOD thing about it is that you can have nine lapis in one item.
I would have to go with sponge since they took out its water elimination ability, cheesy yellow block that does nothing and is too ugly to build with...
But what about dirt? It may be plentiful, but you can't really do anything with it.
Gives your world a base of what it is built with and makes it what it is. Also, uhm.. farming.. Sheep eat it :3.
And to everyone saying Lapis is useless cause all it is for is Decor. Silence yourselves, building it a part of Minecraft and so is Decor.. that is a purpose..
I for one am a strong advocate of decorative blocks being added.
I would say mushroom block. Mushrooms are hard to find annoying to grow and give you food that doesn't stack (I think unless they changed it recently), but they do make cool houses

How long has it been since you played?
Any who, I say sponge as well.

i dont benefit anything from them.

Traps.
Not A Block.
OT: Sponge. Useless, And Only Obtainable In Creative. But If You Think About It, Every Block Has At Least ONE Use: Decoration.
