Well in that case of the official release it is a young game indeed. I still consider it a game even in the development stages. Still anything can be changed at this point even though it is the "Official Release" of the game.
I never said anything about "True fun of minecraft.."
I think that all these new people coming to play Minecraft are just horrible...they really don't know the true fun of Minecraft...back in the old days when all these things weren't being implemented and TERRAIN GENERATION WAS DECENT...
I know I like the game and have been playing for a long time now but it is getting old to me I know I stopped playing for a few months just so it could build my interest back up and it did I mean I use to no life the game because it was so addicting...now I play 1-2 hours daily while having an outside life.
To me, "official release" is only a title. The game is still being developed and still going under lots of big changes.
It is just a title. But it was Mojang's choice to continue to develop the game after that point. They could have threw 1.0.0 at the world and walked away to start the next project. But they didn't which is awesome on their part.
Humanity is the creation of Logic and Emotion, Calculation and Imagination, Cold Analysis and Blind Faith. This is why I believe it is a strange Human that would prize one while shunning the other. For a calculator can do math just as well as you, but a calculator can not use math to make the world a better place.
I think the reason why Minecraft is so popular is because when it started getting famous, all the other good games out there went to crap. Roblox went under, Runescape broke it's own rules, and Club Penguin got bland. Lego.com restricted all of it's games, and Linerider became PC biased, with a crappy sequel. Thats where all the "veterans" of MC come from. All these "Creative, TnT using wusses" are just the unholy CoD spawn, thinking since MC has TnT, thats the only way to play. I'm sorry you can't get a computer, but this upcoming generation is very foul.
I have very well experienced this. all my friends have minecraft PE and they are noobs. Like stupid noob type. I was literally asked before: "Have you ever died in a hole before?" Please. I think they should get rid of pocket edition. Too many people play minecraft now and it's waaaaay to mainstream, and everyone says they're a pro even though they they try to kill enemies with feathers thinking it'll act as a good weapon. At least I can say I played it before it was cool. *sigh*
It's just a fad. Give it a couple of months and they'll move on to the next thing to obsess about.
It's been popular for the last 3 years, why would it just go away in a couple months? Although I love the game, I find it annoying when people constantly talk about it, most of the time being complete newbies...

I know some people who constantly obsess about the game, talk about the game, make a reference to it everyday, and can't go a few minutes without mentioning it. The sad thing is that most of these people have never actually played Minecraft before.

Yep, a lot of those people only watch youtube videos.
I never hear/see Minecraft references in my school... But then again I go to a public school... In the city... In California.
Yeah, we try to stay in the down low in my Californian Charter School too. Like, we wear MC tshirts and stuff, but we dont go around squealing like school girls how we found diamonds.
Hey, OP, it's a great game! Don't you dare! I kid, I am not a Mojang fanboy. Hell, I agree with you.
I got Minecraft as a gift code from my friend back in early Beta, and I have definitely paid for it a lot of times over. But at the same time, some people get way too obsessive. Yes, granted, it's a great game, but there's no need to make it your whole life.
My friends and I occasionally talk about my server or another server we go on, but it's really not that often. Moreover, we don't play Minecraft a lot, because we're busy. We dedicate some time during the weekends and occasionally during the week, but that's about it. Over the summer though, when we have free time...
I find, personally, that the people who obsess over the game play it way too often and generally don't have too much of a social life. Either that, or they've never played MC and just watch every YouTube video on it they can find. Granted, I can be wrong. But the people where I live that obsess rush through their other stuff to play a snapshot, build something, or try to mod.
Even when my friends and I talk, it's generally over text, iMessage, facebook chat, skype, etc. We aren't the kind that talk about it in school or wear the t-shirts...
I think it's funny. So many people around me play Minecraft. People I never would've suspected that play. Ya know?
One of my best friends got me into it. He's plays sports in school (more than me: I just do winter/spring track and play drums) and is super social. He was the person I least expected to like Minecraft, which is probably why I was really generous to him when he goes "Here, check out this awesome game" and boots up Minecraft.
By that I meant the times that you could become popular on youtube easily by posting a simple Minecraft video. Now the youtube scene has kind of been compressed to bigger channels like Mindcrack and Hermitcraft etc.
SOme one could still get a big break using minecraft if they did something new and innovative. Just look at guys like Proper Steeze or the other Minecraft Machinima makers. Most of them a pushing boundaries in that space using minecraft as the foundation and are making some pretty great stuff. But at the same time I will agree that just a regular LP of minecraft isn't going to cut it, unless you can really pull of a play style that no one else is doing and make it fun or interesting to watch.

I think XBOX opened the floodgate for noobs who are like "ZOMG HUROBRIN IS REAL AND PVP FUR LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", I know a friend who honestly thinks Herobrine is real. It's sad.

Pointing out fallacies to undermine an argument is also a fallacy...

You all make me worry that I'm a noob and started playing after it's... "mainstream transition?" you could say? Or that i'm one of these people.

I agree, then. When starting a Minecraft channel, you now have to think "Why would people watch my channel over other MC channels?"
I don't really play minecraft that much anymore. I've mostly gotten bored because it's the same thing every time you start a world. You punch trees, make stuff to punch trees faster, dig for stuff, build things, and w/e else. I personally suck at building and can't do much with redstone. I almost tried to make an adventure map but I discovered you have to be good at building and be creative for that.
Oh really?

You got me there

And this is why I'm glad I'm no longer in school.
My house is made of steel, with paper for doors.

(I have taken up other interest mainly involving retro gaming lately)
You're so hipster.
