I was reading a news article that says that EA, that company that tries everything humanly possible to take your money, tried to get minecraft on origin! The worst, dirtiest, most disgusting, ****ing vomit inducing piece of horrible *****-**** ever invented. What is origin? Origin is just software that prevents pirating and hacking, which is ********. Now, that's not the main reason why I posted, it's because I cringe at the thought of EA acquiring minceraft, they would turn it into one of their money printing schemes, every mod? Paid add-on! Every texture pack? Paid add-on! Every single damn skin? Paid add-on! They would probably charge you to unlock normal in-game things too! God, will they ever learn!
Edit: Move this to discussion, posted it in the wrong place.
Here's to hoping EA never gets any control over Minecraft. It would totally ruin the nature of the game if they got it.
There's a reason why EA is on The Consumerist's Worst Company In America tournament in one of the final four slots. They only care about getting peoples' money. In this way, they are much like AT&T (aka The Death Star), who are also one of the final four.
I got Origin only for SWTOR. EA seriously needs to consider keeping their own games the only stuff on Origin. And now I feel like I violated Mojang's wallet.
Edit: Actually, the worst game support program has to be Desura. I was never able to get either mods I downloaded through it to play more than once.
EA Would charge 60 dollars for the game. 10 dollars to install an update. 5 dollars an hour for online playing.
$15 for a patch to allow iron to generate in new chunks. $30 per diamond you find. $1 each time you craft a pick or a sword. $10 for a patch to allow custom seeds. $9.99 to access the Nether. $25 to access the End. And all of your worlds are deleted with every update.

If anyone wants to port/remake this, feel free to do that! Or don't. It's up to you, really.
I sincerely hope Notch personally told EA whatever the swedish equivalent of "choke on it" is. The only company that can consistently take great games and make people hate them.

Then a five dollar fee every time you start a new world. Ten dollars per mod you use. Five dollars for a texture pack.

i honestly dont understand the hate on ea, they try and make money?!?! oh dear! so the **** what? why should we even care if they are trying to get minecraft on origion, hell even if they did, knowing mojang, it would just be compatability, for multiplayer or knowing when your friends are playing, i really doubt mojang would let them get away with (and i doubt they would even try) trying to sell ingame items, most servers already have that, and it doesnt seem to be a problem. i personnally dont want it on origion but i couldnt give a **** if it was.
and on the note of battlefield ingame sales, which people are saying is "super greedy" no its not! its your choice wether or not to use it, and it only takes a few hours to have a stable class setup, its just for people who either, a. want to just have all the guns of one/all the classes or b. are switching platforms (which will be great for me once i have the cash for a stable gaming desktop)

where in the hell is this from? battlefield 3 had a free map pack, the only reason they had the online pass was because of used sales hurting there profit by a marginable degree, people were very skeptical of bf3, and the 10$ fee was there way of still making a bit of money from used sales/rentals

Mass Effect 3. That game was amazing. The marketing was ridiculous. You couldn't beat the game properly without xbox live unless you had a PC version. Also, ordering a pre-owned is useless because you can't beat the game properly either.
what is worse than nexon, please enlighten me, I've played maple for so long.
Nexon always making ADs on everywhere, and almost everything you use: Pay money! Pay money! Pay money! And the players are too OP you can't even see the mobs due to it being filled with numbers.
Nothing is worse than Nexon, IMO.
BTW, Notch supports piracy because it promoted his game so much. And BTW, Notch has so much money he could buy Taco's engulfed in gold for the rest of his life.
Thats not true. Notch stated that he does NOT support piracy. But he does recognize that the economic model used to define it is both out dated and misleading, and the methods commonly used to combat it are ultimately counter-productive. Instead, hes in the camp that believes the best way to deal with piracy is adding value via services that aren't accessible via pirated copies, and "encourage" people to pay into the game.

I saw that on Reddit maybe 2-3 days ago.

I've seen even worse then Nexon before.
Also seems like theres no point to this thread other then to insult Ea.

Last post was about 4 months ago. Don't necro threads.
