The PC version: Jungle and Desert temple. and small jungle island
Sounds about right. It's nearly, if not completely, impossible to find any good seeds that don't have something to do with generated structures or is a survival Island seed.
Btw, has Dinnerbone said anything new about terrain sliders recently?
Did anyone ever wish for mountanious Mushroom Islands with overhangs and nice Mycelium beaches?
Hopefully if they like the idea about all biomes having height variation they won't forget the Mushroom Islands/''Hills''.

Variation for all biomes assumes that you don't need to set it for every biome.

I think that one possible way biomes could be more interesting is if the terrain under them was enlarged. Bigger river, bigger ravines, bigger mountains, etc. Since as of right now, rivers and lakes are more like streams and ponds. Although it wouldn't add any new terrain structures to keep things lively, I think it would be refreshing for people sick of the default terrain generator.
hey i dont like new terrain i started play minecraft in 1.6.1 and i saw the beta world and i texted very much seeds but when upgraded to 1.8 i was very sad and today i use NBX lite and old days

That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins

If they changed the chunk system to cubic instead of linear it would open the door for amazing possibilities with terrain generation.

The problem here isn't really that the terrain looks bad, there are some that actually looks good. The problem here is that it lacks variation.

I think those pictures are from when the Xbox used the 1.7.3 version of minecraft but then they updated it to 1.8.
I looked at the date july 8 2013.. Maybe people just voted for these seeds and uploaded old pictures without checking to see if they still work.
The fun part is that at first I thought it was only me but then I found this thread.
I totally support this!

I've made a thread for it in the suggestion forum: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1896148-larger-terrain-generation-not-biomes/

It's less realistic.

They would, but the terrain doesn't even use 256 height at the moment. That is more than enough for good terrain.

Oceans: Deeper longer and some more mobs and maybe coral
Mountains: Add loads of birch trees and grass
Swamps: More trees, More water, and FOG!
And make it so that Snowy biomes should NOT be next to Deserts, Jungles and possibly swamps
and snowy boimes should not have sand beaches
