Even with fast lightning on it still gets dark. He looks like it has some kind of full bright mod on, might even just be the in game settings. I play on moody when I play 1.5 because it actually makes the world dark, even makes the shadows look nicer.
Yes, his mod does that. That mod doesn't modify terrain btw, so that's why I want Kodehawa to post seed/coords now, to post the same screenshot from vanilla. Fanboys will ignore my post however, as it's much easier to just say that it's mod bug, and not Minecraft one.

Did anyone see the thread where chunks should be changed to sperical and it would make true mountains? I think that could also help this problem. Also, I hate the amount of caves. Its no fun having to dodge so many caves when walking through plains.

I'm against reverting to previous terrain generation or any analogue of previous terrain. I'm for stuff like this:
Sure those look nice, but just like the current biomes that we have, the way they are generated, a lot of them will look the same. Definite amount of elevation, definite amount of trees, definite amount of tall grass, etc. If we have the system that we had back in pre-1.8 PLUS more biomes such as those you posted, then we would have maximum variation.

Oh.
Not only is it ugly but it makes mod installation a hell of a lot harder.
I like the new launcher myself. Its easier to sort my minecraft files without them being in random folders in my computer.
The mod installation is not hard. It is pretty much just copying and renaming everything it is tedious but it is not hard.
Yeah. Tedious is the word I'm looking for.
On an unrelated note, they need to add calm4 back to the game.
The old days mod has that but it wont be updated for 1.6.2 for awhile.
