*facepalm* Not every non-premium user is a pirate. People actually use classic still for some reason.
STEREOTYPING. Enough said.
STEREOTYPING. And other logical fallacies. And the 'S' word.
You poor soul. Who's been feeding you that MPAA/RIAA propaganda? And have you even LOOKED at secondhand game sales? The damage that THAT does is more real than piracy since it is a sale that one person profits from, results in no incentive for the buyer to buy a new copy, and causes one hell of a lot more lost sales than piracy. However, with services like Steam, there are no secondhand sales any more in the PC market. Assumptions.
Assumptions. Misuse of the word 'fact'. If you were using it properly, we'd know because you'd have evidence to back it up. Since no such evidence exists, moving on...
See above. People have DRM for a lot of reasons, most of them good.
Prevent people from giving away copies of things for free all the time (eg. buy skyrim, give a copy to your friends, neighbors, enemies, neighbors' pets, etc.)
Have an answer for investors if they ask what they do to prevent piracy
Prevent SECONDHAND SALES, which makes the PC market more viable.
That's just a few. Some companies put a lot of intrusive DRM. That's what piracy was invented for, and if you lack the balls to do it, then buy the game and download a crack. And there is no excuse to not have internet access. If you have enough money to buy games, obviously you can afford internet access.
The reason is that they are being bought by the MPAA/RIAA.
Did you know that there are a lot of artists who actually don't care about piracy? It isn't always about the money, and to be honest, they don't get a lot of money in the first place since publishers take over 90% of it. People had this same debate when radio was new, although not as prevalent since there was no Internet. Radio was seen as piracy. And it isn't the only thing that has been complained about by the RIAA - they complained about the player piano. I don't think you can go lower than that. If we let the RIAA get their way, we would have a heavily censored Internet, and we'd still be using vinyl records which are hard to manufacture.
TL;DR Nobody's going to take you seriously because most of your argument is pure ********.
STEREOTYPING? You obviously don't live in the real world mate. Most people won't pay for something if they can get for free. So long as the chance of being caught is zero most don't care if its a crime. Illegal downloads tally in the millions. You want to call it propagabda go ahead but theres plenty of news coverage of piracy in games and other software that has nothing to do with the MPAA/RIAA.
If most people were paying for minecraft then minecrafts figures would be closer too 17 million sales with 5 million classic players as you call them. I think you already know that but you rather not face it as it hurts your argument.
You really think most of them 17 million must be playing minecraft classic addition? Now thats funny...
Your second hand sales argument is in your own words "pure ********" as most PC games have been using CD keys for over 10 years. There is no market for second hand PC games and hasen't been for a good 10 years. You ever try trading in a PC game within the last ten years eh? Obviously not or you would know most shops offer a no Trade policy on PC games or the ones you can trade will get you $1/£1 off another game. Not worth it. Your confusing the issue with the used CONSOLE games market.
I approve of steam as a DRM and i have about 70+ games on there. What i don't approve of is download/installation limits placed on my PC games. It's a complete joke when you have to call up a DRM company just to get another online activation for a game i bought outright. This is a direct result of significant piracy. Propaganda or not piracy is enough of a significant issue to cause problems for EVERYONE online as its used as a scapegoat for policing the internet and censorship.
I cracked Minecraft, and honestly I dont care what you guys say.
Like a previous poster, its like a demo/sample, its the full game just cut down allot (no online/Skin/ect) now thats still pretty full, you can play just fine of singleplayer. I did buy it a few (2-3) months after trying it out (I didnt play all the time just now and then)
God you must have had a lame crack then. I just don't see where people get this idea that you can't use skins. Now maybe you can't use skins on a cracked server... but on singleplayer you can get skins easy. You just replace the char.png in the jar with the skin of your choosing. Same with Texture packs. To get online you just need a cracked multiplayer server. For mods... well thats fairly simple aswell. .
The truth is the only difference is whether or not you can get on noncracked servers. Everything else? Easy.
To behonest I don't care any bit if someone pirates a game.
But then as we speak I got a a few books/tv shows on my computer that i have recently torrented.
There is no proof of the number of pirates or the number of pirates that effect wither more games will be or not.
You are making **** up....again.
Also it still does not diminish the wealth of the maker of the game as his amount of wealth stays the same amount if someone pirates the game this does not take away his wealth he already has.
People register to play the classic verison of minecraft, as said before by that other person as well its not a counter of who has pirated the game. Dont pull made up %'s out your ass. I can make an account on mincraft.net just to play classic minecraft, that does not mean i pirated it just because i do not have the paid account. Heck some users forget there pass and just make mroe free accoutns for classic minecraft. So this doesnt prove anything about pirates.
For the 2nd time you can not prove the % of people who pirate the game, people who pirate and dont wish to buy and people who pirate and plan on buying it.
All your arguments so far have been made up %'s and opinions. Now stop making **** up.
For the third time, WE KNOW THAT YOU CAN REGISTER TO PLAY CLASSIC. NOT MANY PEOPLE DO. ALSO, WHEN SOMEONE SAYS ITS A GUESTIMATE, DOES THAT SOUND LIKE THEY ARE SPOUTING IT AS FACT??? I THINK NOT!!!! AS FOR DIRECT IMPACT ON THE SALARY OF THE CREATOR OF THE GAME, WOULDN'T YOU SAY THAT PAYING THEM FOR THEIR GAME INCREASES THEIR SALARY? Yeah, when you pay someone, they get more money. When you pirate, they don't get money. Chances are, if you pirate, you aren't going to pay for it. I mean, most everyone who has pirated it thinks that they already have it, so why pay when they can just keep playing cracked.
All your arguments so far have been made up opinions. Now stop making **** up.
I dare yah.

For backwards time travel to be possible, wouldn't every instant in the universe have to be stored somewhere, or time to be something physical you could travel through? Either way doesn't work with the current laws of physics.

You dare me to what? All I said was "All your arguments so far have been made up opinions"
Now stop before you make yourself out to be a bigger idiot then you already have.

IK caps lock isn't a boost to an arguement, it is to show frustration at having to repeat myself multiple times, yet the message never sinking in.
Also, you can tell that it is fact because the number of people who have pirated a game never goes down. If people who pirated had intentions of paying for the game, the number would go down, or at least stop growing.
From all your posts so far, you seem to be that type of person that I despise, you know, the ones who will never say they were wrong about anything?

There is no number that is for people who pirated the game. The counter you keep brining up is just how many people made accounts, and how many people got the game. Now i personally made 3 accounts as i forgot my password to play classic as minecraft didnt send forget password thigns because of a site bug.
But now we are just getting off topic, the number of users who made free accounts is not the number of users who pirate the game.....FWI you dont need a minecraft account free or not to pirate the game. So there goes your agurment right out the window with that counter you keep brining up. As that has nothing to do with the number of people who pirate the game.
It seems you cant admit when your wrong, if im forced to bring this fact up again thatthe counter of free and paid accounts has nothing to do with who pirates the game as pirating the game does no require any free or paid account to begin with ...I might have to punch a walrus
Repeat yourself you say? Oh maybe like i had to about certain people making up %'s and opinions? oh fancy that

For the fourth time now, IK THE F*CKING COUNTER DOESN'T SHOW PIRATED ACCOUNTS. Second, since I never tried to pirate myself, I would not know. I simply saw someone else on this thread saying that and made an assumption. Yes, there is no way to know for sure, but it is pretty high up there. The point is, if you got $100 for a few hundred hours of work, you would be p*ssed, wouldn't you? If people too many people follow this logic of yours, this may happen. When that happens, the games will stop being made. Also, it doesn't matter how likely, or unlikely this scenario is because that is what would happen if everyone followed your beliefs.
Repeat yourself you say? Oh, maybe like how I had to about certain people (Conker) making up opinions? Oh, fancy that.
Now, this isn't a direct quote, as you can see. Yes, I made the grammar better. Oh, and I added Conker's name in.

Now, I'll admit. I used to have the cracked version. BUT to try it out and see if I'd like it, and when I noticed that I did, I bought it. Now I think this could and has happened many times to many different people, its some of the same with music, if you like it enough, you'll end up buying it to say that "Hey, I bought this game/music, its so legit." I don't support people having the cracked version so much, but if it was for people trying it out, I'd say go for it.

The PC Gamer demo is for that purpose. That's how I started. It's legit. Why do people use the illegal version as a demo, when all you have to do is search "Minecraft Demo" on google, and the first result is the PC Gamer Demo?

Yes, there is no way to know for sure, but it is pretty high up there.
If there if no way to know for sure then you cannot say right after "but it is pretty high" when you dont know yourself. You are contradicting yourself with that statement.
While once again your relying on your own opinions with no proof to try to back up your failing agurment.
Now, this isn't a direct quote, as you can see. Yes, I made the grammar better. Oh, and I added Conker's name in.
Editing a quote does not help your argument. You cant even back up what you say. This debate is pretty much over for you. You are unable to back up what you say, cant get a cleare point across, keep contradicting, and keep stating opinions as facts.
You has lost this debate, since you cannot even put up any good argument anymore you are now not worth my time, good day sir.

Well, I actually didn't know of the demo at that time. And a mate messaged me and was like "dude try minecraft, theres a cracked version" I didn't know what Minecraft was, or what it was about at that time. This was clear back when it just became beta I think.

I didn't know about the demo either. I got on google, back during 1.6.5, put in "Minecraft Demo", downloaded the PC Gamer demo, got decent at the game after 5 days, bought it, then it was 1.6.6. Literally the day I bought it. I bought it, hit play the instant I could, and it asked me to update. I always tell that story because it gets laughs.
You see, the Op didn't make this to become a giant debate. He just stated his situation and asked for your opinion. As I stated Page 33 and on my signature, just state your opinion and don't start a fit because everyone does not agree with you. I am trying to say this in the most sincere way possible, but I cannot express this with my typing, so accept this smiley face:
