Call me crazy on this one, but does it seem like Minecraft just hasn't been the same lately?
It all seems to have just taken some sort of weird turn. First Notch adds an exp bar, then giant mushrooms, then freaking snowmen "snow golems".
When did Notch decide to make Minecraft seem so...silly?
For one thing, we still don't have more farming options, animals that can actually be domesticated, or actual oceans like many people have been asking for since day one. Instead, we have snow golems.
This might just be me wanting Minecraft to be a little more realistic, but to me it seems like there are certain things in Minecraft that shouldn't be in here, and vice versa.
Yeah, Notch has added things that I personally don't like (new mobs and blocks are okay) but the xp bar? and the food bar? It is turning more RPG'ish, at least we should've an option to don't have the xp & food bar like:
i think the main focus is really on npc's villages and interaction between them, the rest is to keep the little kiddies begging their parents to buy minecraft
Well, at the very least he wasn't like "ZOMG GUIZ NOTCH MAID MC SO BADDDD LOLZ".
He made his own opinion, so we shouldn't merely diss it as a 'complaining thread'. Speaking of opinions, I like the silly direction that MC is taking, it would make it new and stand out much more from the crowd.

I would have had my GamerCard here, but the picture was too big...
I do have to agree with you there. However it is his game and he can do whatever the hell he wants.
That's a great point.
It just seems a little weird to me that he's adding these things lately. I've been playing since 1.2 and things seem to have gotten a little more RPG/fantasy-like. Which is what I play Minecraft to avoid.
And I couldnt agree more. The realistic side of minecraft is what makes it fun. Why would he put in a snow man before breeding animals? I think he has good ideas but hes putting them in the wrong order.
yeah you're probably right about the order but what about my little pony?
if you dont want RPG, all you have to do is turn structures off in world settings. that will disable villages, strongholds, etc. if you don't want endermen, dont play on hard. problem solved.
You're right about stuff being silly. He should really add more generation options. like: Mushroom biome, Snow biome, etc. Instead of just dungeons, villages, etc.
uh... Notch DID add oceans and more farming options (Melons and pumpkins).
By oceans I meant all the things that come with an ocean. Like an actual beach, or multiple species of fish. Not just a big hole in the ground filled with water (though this is great improvement).
As far as farming goes, some people think it's still pretty limited. Personally I think it wouldn't hurt to add more common vegetables (e.g; beans, corn), but beggars can't be choosers I guess is what most people like you are trying to say.

Nobody has even mentioned Endermen being a problem..

Multiple species of fish would be amazing, but I don't really feel mods like Mo'Creatures did it correctly. Fish that vary in size and color would be the best, not just 10 differently colored triangles :tongue.gif:
