This doesn't sound like a discussion. It sounds more like a complaint.
I'm pretty sure if you paid money, you have a right to complain. That's like saying you bought $20, but have no right to say you don't like something about it.

Im not saying that you don't have the right to complain. Im saying that this thread right here, is more of a complaint then a discussion.
Honestly. Stone-colored cobblestone when it WAS darker + lighter stone = blech.
Well, people have been complaining about how rough and cluttered the block looked. The black fought the white too hard. Actually, it is the same tint it was before, but the black was turned gray. The brain's perception goes a long way.
I don't see what the problem is, really. If you want to replace the cobblestone then all you have to do is download Paint.net or Gimp (free photoshop clones) and snip and paste the cobblestone from an old texture pack. There are tons of guides on YouTube that can help you learn how to do it in one afternoon.
Who knows, you might like making textures more than playing Minecraft itself, and maybe you might design the next "most used" texture pack, once you get used to it of course.
The reason you can't use normal Window's paint (unless you have Windows 7/Vista) is because they don't support transparency (the ability to have leaves/glass see-through and such).
This would be a problem for me, but luckily, I don't give a ****.
In fact, if the only thing that would change the texture back would be a ****, and I'd be the only one around, with a pocket full of ****, I wouldn't give a ****.
Luckily we still have texture packs.

So... download the old texture and replace it?
Yeah, if they made it a bit smoother, but kept the darkness to it, then it'd be sweet!
Where?
This forum is meant for the discussion of minecraft.

This. So much.
And it doesn't even affect texture packs anyway (but I guess that's only for people who don't use the default texture).

It's more of a nit-pick than a complaint anyway...
up yours! the old one was better, PERIOD.
Well, you're nice, aren't you? /sarcasm
