So, about three weeks ago, my brother and I got ourselves hooked to minecraft classic. While it was fun, we both had one thing on our mind. Beta.
Now, I have money. So I purchased Beta about a week and a half ago and have been enjoying it very, very much. Now, my brother on the other hand, who is much younger that I, doesn’t have any money and can't purchase it like I did.
I haven't told him yet, though he saw my avatar, and wants to know how I got it. So I wouldn't be surprised if he has figured it out by now.
I'm telling you this long and boring story, because he's been asking me "if I got beta," would I my account with him.
Now, I don't want to give it him for a few reasons,
1. Its the classic "my money, my game" deal. I don't want him messing with my avatar, going on multi player, etc.
2. I want to say it’s against the terms of use, but I can’t find a line to support that other than “Do not distribute anything we've made.”
3. I secretly want to give him a gift code for his birthday. But that’s in October, and I will have to deal with his peppering until then.
So my question is, what should I say to him?

I would personally let your brother play, just let him know not to mess with anything but single player. If he does, you'll take the account from him. That's what I did for my little bro before I bought him his own copy
Don't tell him that you don't need passwords/accounts to play offline.
If you don't want him playing at all, delete the exe and play in browser (if you aren't already). Just remember that you can't play minecraft if your internet goes down if you do this.
If you don't really care THAT much, just try to hide the exe somewhere. This won't keep him from finding it, but it will deter him from playing it.
My brother wanted my account's password too, but I told him that I cannot trust him with it, because I can see him going on random servers, swearing, and getting banned.

I don't feel like putting anything witty here, sorry.

This way, if he get's bored of it you don't have to get him the gift card!

[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<
Brother: Yay! A minecraft code!
*you build something awesome together*
Or you mcould always punch him in the neck like the first post.

laugh
repeat
??????
Profit
1) Give him gift code now in exchange for some chores done or some goal that has a value to you > 15 euro
2) Wait until birthday, get gift code free.
Yeah, that means do not distribute the game files. It does not mean do not share your password.
Maybe not the best choice but hey, anything for him to stop bothering you.
I doubt his little bro knows **** about copyright laws

Good luck!
