The ability to disable mobs by putting a bucket on their head:By TheqoreeZ
Instructions:Right-click a mob to disable pathfinding and picking up armour & prevents undead mobs from burning.Mobs can still harm you if you get too close. It takes 10 sec for a mob to remove a bucket.
Creepers,Zombies,Skellies(Wither type too),Pigmen:
Same as in Instructions.Zombies have 5 sec with the bucket instead of 10.
Magma Cubes,Slimes,Ghasts,Squid,Snow & Iron Golems,Ender Dragons,Guardians and Elder Guardians:
Would not be affected.Their heads would be too big & thus would not fit.
Chickens,Bats & all baby animals(Excluding Foals):
Would not be able to move because the bucket will fit over their whole body. They cannot remove the bucket, but older animals will try to help the baby.
Blazes:
Would simply burn the bucket, rendering it useless.
Cave Spiders & Spiders:
Would not be able to climb or poison you,but can still sense you.
Wither:
Would wear the buckets but rendered useless. The Wither has a way of senseing your where you hiding.
Horses,Wolves & Passive mobs:
Would have their snouts/heads/noses would be covered & thus would make less noise.Wolves would do no damage to any entity.
Villagers(Thanks to Mordikins!)
Would run amok & crash into everything! Each time they crash, half a heart is dealt.Villagers cannot shake the bucket off.Iron golems would help villagers get the bucket off.
Endermen:
Would take the bucket and place it on your head. If your wearing a helmate, it would knock the helmate onto the ground. If you're wearing mob head or pumpkin, it'll not work, and the bucket falls to the floor.
Baby zombies:
It would knock he bucket right outa your hands!
/gamerule playerBuckets true/false
Would enable players to place buckets on each other.
Removing Buckets:There are 5 ways of removing buckets.1.Kill the entity with the bucket.2.Wait for 35s for the entity to shake it off.3.Use shears to safely remove the bucket.4.Use fire charges to melt the bucket away.Does not return bucket.5.(Only for villagers)An Iron Golem will knock the bucket of their head. Each time player damage is dealt to an entity with the bucket there is a 5% chance the bucket will fall off.
My Avatar is a Dalek, therefor your argument is... EXTERMINATED!!!
You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.
Next we should have villagers that whine about being shot in the knee.
But on a serious note, I kind of like this. I don't see it being added to vanilla but I'd definitely use this as a mod, so you have my somewhat half-hearted support.
Useless. Buckets were added to transport liquids, not to put on mob's heads
And remember, suggestions are for ideas that would make the game more fun, not realistic.
I wasn't trying to add realism but I guess it does.Wheat was added to make food, not coral animals into a pen,but it happened.

As much as this seems cool, I don't like it and it seems pointless, granted majority of the people i know who play minecraft read Homestuck..so lets keep that part in the dark.
Any how I don't support, for one I simply play peaceful in single player (some how on other difficulties it lags and causes video problems..), secondly I use people's grinders in multiplayer, or even better trade/buy from them. thirdly the point of zombies and skeletons are suppose to burn when in sun, further more their arms. their arms are going to be in the sun and still burn. The only way they won't burn in the sun is if they're in water or in a building, or some where dark/shady. So this is pointless sadly.

Ever heard of having undead mobs wearing helmets not burning even with their legs/arms stcking out?& no,the point of zombies and skellies is to have something to run away from. The only reason that undeads burn is so that your safe during the day.

Ever heard of having undead mobs wearing helmets not burning even with their legs/arms stcking out?
Ever heard of Chest plates covering arms? hurr hurr?
Got cut off (bad keyboard >:c)
None the less the armored mobs despawn more easily/quickly then a unarmored.
Well it's not that bad of an idea but I just don't like it. I prefer to keep my Skyrim separate from my Minecraft. Also, you should be able to use buckets on villagers.
I support this. However, I'd like to clear up some arguments.
First of all, about the "arms are still exposed." Ever given a zombie a leather cap? I'm sure you haven't, it's a waste of leather. I'm sure if it wasn't that a fair amount of us on the forums would go around just giving zombies pink and purple hats. But anyways, the hat doesn't cover their arms at all, yet they aren't burnt to a crisp.
Next, "secondly I use people's grinders in multiplayer, or even better trade/buy from them." Can you explain why this is a reason we shouldn't be able to place a bucket onto a zombie or skeleton's face?
Third, "Buckets were added to transport liquids, not to put on mob's heads." I could make a huge list of things like this. Gunpowder was added for TNT, not fireworks. Bonemeal was added as a white dye, not fertilizer. Fish were added as a food item when the player has no other sources, not to lure cats.
Finally, "I prefer to keep my Skyrim separate from my Minecraft." I feel confident that The Elder Scrolls weren't the only games to have the player place a bucket of the head of another person to blind them. I mean, maybe Bethesda did come up with it, I really don't feel like doing much research. On an unrelated note, while I was researching this, the Minecraft Wiki's article for bucket came up before Wikipedia's. Nice job, guys.
Also, I do have a suggestion for this: Zombies should be able to 'pull off' the bucket, causing it to drop as an item. This would be simulated by a bucket simply dropping faster than 35 seconds, maybe at least after 10 seconds of aimlessly wandering it'd pull the bucket off. Zombies have nothing in their hands. Skeletons don't.

tl;dr: i just clear some stuff up that'll probably get me yelled at by someone
Thanks for all the support!I will update this soon.

Zombie: "I'm going to eat your brains!"
(Steve Places a bucket on the Zombie's head)
Zombie: "On second thought, I'm just going to stand here harmlessly and do nothing, as all my anger and motivation has abruptly disappeared with the addition of this fashionable liquid transportation device / headgear."
I'm not usually the one to go against an idea for the sake of realism, but this is just ridiculous.

Bahahahaha. I love it. I'm imagining a town full of Testificates running around crashing into each other with buckets on their heads.
Who cares if it's realistic or not, it's hilarious and that's what matters.
Thanks I will add this into the OP.

Acually it's more like
Zombie:Ahhhh I'm falling into the void heeeeeeelllp!!
Also the point is to not add realism,it's so newbies have a distraction and don't get killed.

I'm definitely in favour of being able to do more things with existing items. There are lots of things I'd like to be able to put on my head: flowerpots, lamps, bowls, ... that's about it. Anyways, why no bucket on players' heads? That would be the best, imo, with an overlay much like the pumpkin head.
It might be a bit overpowered though. I'd say a player (or any mob) who is already wearing something on their head would be immune to bucketing. Also, the bucket should be able to be shaken off by moving your head rapidly.

The bucket can be shaken off after 35s of use.
THE carved bucket! But I don't think we sould copy off of something that copied off of Minecraft.(Give ya a hint,it starts with T)So no to wearing a bucket.Anyways,is that support?

Mobs actually being varied???

Yeah, because a monster would stop attacking you if it has a bucket placed over it's head in real life....
