Mojang has released an update between the 18th and the 20th of each month for the last 3 months at least.
I can't tell you how fed up I am with having to deal with a busted Bukkit and busted plugins, having to download an updated texture pack and new patcher, and then maybe a week (if your lucky) after they become compatible with the new update, Mojang releases ANOTHER STUPID UPDATE!
ENOUGH ALREADY!! I'm sick of this.
My server will NOT be updating to this latest update until everything else is already compatible because I already know come January 18th, there will be yet another useless update.
Wow, quit whining. I like the rate of updates. Bukkit isn't even of Mojang's concern, so Bukkit could burn in hellfire for all Mojang could care probably, they aren't going to stop updating because you're flipping out because you can't use some features because you're too stubborn to leave Bukkit behind.
Well, 1) Im not whining, and 2) Im not flipping out. You have no reason to be so rude just because you disagree.
It's also obvious that you don't maintain a server or you would know exactly what I'm talking about. If you had to go through all this crap every 30 days, you'd be bloody well sick of it too.
I honestly think they need to slow down on the updates and make them more rich as a trade-off instead of adding little nicknacks every month to please the 3rd graders who play.

You know the Bukkit team is part of Mojan now right..?

Little nicknacks...? ._.
Anyway, I like the pace of the updates too. It's so exciting when you get to play with all the new stuff added to see what's possible with it. It really helps to keep me from getting bored too. The gap between 1.2.5 and 1.3 made me stop playing for about a month...

I didn't feel like making a good signature, so I just typed this up.

I do, and it's not a necessity. That's seriously what it looks like though to me. Complaining that we're getting updates is silly, it really is.

Yes, and? My point is, they have a game to work on, they can't be arsed to please what was also a third party program for a long while, and still technically is I guess if you want to look at it that way.
Point is, nobody is forcing you to use Bukkit, and when you use bukkit you should be aware that updates will make it incompatible. It's like using any other mod to the game and complaining that mojang broke it in an update, oh wait, people do that already.

The official updates are pretty well spaced out... I won't argue that it can be annoying when trying to maintain a server, but when you say "PLEASE STOP WITH THE ENDLESS UPDATES!", it comes as "STOP CONSTANTLY GIVING US NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES!"
You think once every month is too fast? Any slower and it'd be a turtle with severe sleep deprivation.
The updates bring numerous bugfixes (the lack of which people frequently complain about) and new features (the lack of which people also frequency complain about).

Blast. I thought I was a senior in high school, but now I'm back in third grade!
Mojang shouldn't slow down their updates because you play with mods, they are supposed to give vanilla players more content and keep the game growing.
Just be glad you can play Minecraft in the first place for half the price as any normal game on the market, and the fact they are working on making a mod API so your mods don't have to update/take as long to update.

No whining. And also I disagree. I enjoy the new updates. You hated everything - the witch, the fireworks, the new renaming system. This is becoming a rant about stopping with the endless updates.
I don't see anyone getting angry about Seecret Friday updates long ago, and I am pretty sure they still deal with texture packs and server plug-ins.
In short: Stop whining.
The reason nobody had issues with it back then was because Server Admins were generally competent and knew what they were doing. It's no different with actual Server administration of things like Apache. You don't see the people that manage websites stamping their feet about an apache, MySQL, or PHP Update they have to apply. It's part of the job description.

To be honest, I got lost at the word Apache. I don't understand anything after that.
I like the new content when it comes out - so much that I even use the weekly snapshots. Plus, updating Minecraft is what certain people in Mojang are paid to do - it's their job to maintain Minecraft, whether it's adding all of these features, or fixing bugs.
Perhaps, to avoid breaking mods and texture packs, the mod and texture pack creators could use those snapshots to work on their mods while the Minecraft devs are working on the next update? That way, they'd both theoretically be ready around the same time?
Plus, with the Mod API coming out, perhaps making mods will be easier - and will be easier to maintain as Minecraft gets updated. It's something to be a bit patient for, but it could be well worth it.

Your all caps thread title suggests otherwise.

Just thinking. If I'm wrong, please tell me.
