no, there wont be new tool types, just a few new building blocks. minecraft needs more building blocks, wouldnt you agree? they wouldnt spawn like iron or diamonds, in small, neat deposits. they would generate like dirt and gravel, common, in large depostis.
here is some i really want.
GRANITE- a dark green stone with specks of light brown.
MARBLE- a creamy white stone.
and here is some that just popped into my head.
BASALT- a very dark gray stone, not quite black.
LIMESTONE- a lighter, rougher looking kind of stone.
Another thing we need is a red sandstone block. Go look a picture of the Grand Canyon and tell me if we don't need that in Minecraft.
+1. I'd use the <REMOVE THE PROFANITY FILTER PLEASE> out of it because currently, there is no good way to make a Mars world. Unless I want raging fires because of some lava deep underground, it's either too red (netherrack), too brown (dirt), or too light (sand). Red sand and red sandstone would be awesome.

If anyone wants to port/remake this, feel free to do that! Or don't. It's up to you, really.
More variety in every-day stone would be appreciated. Maybe re-name this "stone variety" or "extra stone" instead?

i thought of that, but thats sandstone. we already have that, and red sandstone would sound dumb. but yes, minecraft REALLY needs a redish building material like that.
more useless stuff? no.... please... how about first finding decent uses for lapis and emeralds?
Oh yes! Even more functionally equivalent blocks that don't stack with each other! Mining just doesn't have enough of those "throw away the accumulated crap" moments as is.
1. open terrain.png
2. select sand.
3. change the hue and saturation as needed
4. save.
5. ???
6. mars world
Terrafirmacraft has a nice way of implementing different stone types. They spawn in layers as they would IRL.
Of course, the terrafirmacraft system would be overly complex (it has a TON of stone types) but a somewhat similar system of stone layers using these materials instead of all the obscure stones from Terrafirmacraft would be nice.

i checked out, and it added way too much bull crap.just added a poll!
No support. If they spawned like dirt and gravel that would leave less room for dirt and gravel. I doubt they would put new ores in minecraft for the looks of it. It has to help craft something. And if you did make them craft something, it would have to be even a bit rarer than dirt and gravel. Maybe spawned like coal.

Spawns "like" dirt and gravel underground. Not aboveground my friend, but only below ground. Think of it as being a large pocket of cool stone.
Also...MC has added many new things just for the looks. Take Brick for example. It's useless. Only now have they finally added plant pots (a use for bricks!). Or how 'bout that Dragon Egg? Just for the looks. Or maybe Netherrack. You can't craft anything with it. It's only property is ever-burning

Ok point taken with the dirt and gravel thing. But the key word is ORES. None of those things come in ores. (Netherrack I have to check, only been to Nether once.) And they have never added ores in Minecraft for cosmetics Even emerald has a job in the game.

Lapis.
You either dye sheep with it to make decorative blocks or craft it in to decorative blocks.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
You either dye sheep with it to make decorative blocks or craft it in to decorative blocks.
Lapis has a purpose, as you stated above. You can dye sheep with it and use it to craft decorative blocks.
However I do count lapis as a big exception.
This is not Total Miner. No support. We don't need any more stones than our classic stone.
guys, didnt you take the time to read like 4 sentences? they would be new building blocks! minecraft is frickin all about building! its a sandbox game!

when i say "ore" i mean a a group of blocks formed underground. i kinda messed up when i said these are ores....

BASALT- a very dark gray stone, not quite black.
LIMESTONE- a lighter, rougher looking kind of stone.
SHALE- a brown rock that appears layered.
SLATE- a bluish green type of rock.
or -1 me with your mind. One of them is less frustrating.
Another thing we need is a red sandstone block. Go look a picture of the Grand Canyon and tell me if we don't need that in Minecraft.
Yes. Red sandstone. Yes, yes, YES.
Also, maybe they could have higher blast ratings compared to stone. This would add a practical aspect to the aesthetic aspect that you have proposed.

So if you want to use them you can on Tekkit, you can get Basalt from volcanoes and Marble from pretty much everywhere
Just doing this so you know who it is
did you even read the suggestion?
well these epic new stones are technicaly "ores", so no. i will admit i got marble and basalt from tekkit. ok ill admit marble and basalt came from tekkit.

Just the stone system.
Obviously, not the entire mod.
Okay. Totally agreed, and I don't really see how 'marble' or whatever would really benefit anything. Just another useless block...
No support.
(No sarcasm, I do support)
