Sorry if I missed it, but is there a command that kills a certain mob type? I'm setting up a small arena on my private server, with command blocks. Pretty much, I want to set it up so that it will spawn Iron Golems if the player gets overwhelmed/dies and wants to get their stuff back. Problem is, I need a command that would remove the Iron Golems.
there is a /kill *insert mob here* command in the new snapshots.

I've tried that. I'm running Snapshot 14w11b (The newest one my launcher shows), and it doesn't work. /kill kills me, . /kill VillagerGolem doesn't work, it says 'The entity UUID provided is in an invalid format'. Any ideas?
Unlike /mobrepel, mobnospawn simply suppresses spawning within a certain range, but mobs can still wander into the area after spawning outside the affected range. This would be useful when creating a walled castle which protected from spawning on the inside without having to litter the area with light sources.
Note - This is also unlike the existing gamerule doMobSpawning which disables all mob spawning.
Some of these features are already possible, like. /summon . But it also works with entities like falling sand or TNT or Minecarts! You can also add data tags so that it can wear player heads, weapons and armor(But it only works on Zombies and Skeletons). Also /kill in the 1.8 Minecraft Update(currently in snapshot) now has extra abilities; you can type /kill @e[type=<Entity>] . Entity is also for mobs and the non-mobs(falling sand, TNT, Minecarts). You can search "1.8 Minecraft snapshot" on YouTube and get a full explanation of the commands(If you find the right video).

Anyway - Support!
This is also possible in 1.8(in snapshot). You can type in a command block connected to a redstone clock(gives redstone pulses repeatedly) /kill @e[type=<mob>,r=<radius>] . This will not prevent spawning of that mob but it will kill it as soon as it spawns in the radius. One problem with that is that it will make the dying particle effects and will drop it's loot, so if you don't want that, just type this instead: /tp @e[type=<mob>,r=<radius>] ~ ~-1000 ~. The symbol "~" can be typed by pressing shift plus the key under the "esc" key.

Also, I'd like to suggest an addition of my own:
/mobnospawn (Mob) (Radius)
