I think that bedrock should be abele to be mined with a certain kind of pickaxe only a diamond one that was enchanted This is because i think an underground biome would be very cool and useful It could have crystals and be inhabited by cave spiders and silverfish the crystal could be stronger then diamond it also could be like a jungle but with vines and waterfalls fomr the ceiling there could be large temples throught these and could have great treasure such as jems from the next update this would add tothe adventure and need of mining aspect of the game please leave a comment about what you think of my idea.
Bedrock should be minable? NO. Otherwise there will be alot of griefing in MP servers.
Higher ore than Diamond? Maybe. We already going to have Emerald in 1.3 which is a little bit higher than diamond.
Underground biome? It already exist. It's the void , it kills you. But I think in 1.3 it will teleport you to Hell.
Correct, Bedrock should not be mineable, or even breakable at all. It is meant to be indestructible.
Emerald is not higher than diamond. In fact, even comparing emerald to diamond would be like comparing wheat to a pumpkin. They may be obtained the same way but they serve totally different functions.
The Nether (or hell) is not located under the overworld. Notch has stated this many times. Falling into the void will not and will never teleport you to the Nether.
I've actually had some ideas about a new dimension called the void that is accessed by finding a weakpoint in the bedrock and digging through. These weakpoints would be fairly rare and would just be made of regular stone.
When you fall through them you would appear in an infinite dark dimension that is populated by shards of "void rock" and some sort of nasty flying bat creature.
The void dimension would work differently to the other dimensions. It would not only generate forever horizontally, but also downwards.
I got stuck on how you would get back up though, or how you would see anything through the void fog, or what point there would be to even go there.
No, that idea would be very hard to implement. Currently, the bottom of the bedrock layer is y=0 and the void kills you at y=-64. If your idea is implemented, either they are going to have to mess up terrain generation and move everything up however many blocks it is, or make sure the bottom of this area's bedrock layer be over y=-64.
Also, people may be discouraged to read it because of the wall of text you created.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
Please click the dragons, they need to grow. Also, my fully grown dragons can be found in my bio.
that was the point though i didnt mean for jeb and the otehr minecraft developer type people to START RIGHT AWAY but i mean as like a new dimenstion how would bedrock cause more greif in multiplayer...thast what the protections are foralso i didnt mean just to get to void i meant a new area
You basically want a new world under bedrock. Pretty pointless in my mind. It would have to expand the world downward and that would cause more lag because more blocks in chunks. Also bedrock has a reason, keep you out of th void, and breaking bedrock would be breaking bedrocks purpose.

Not only do I hate this, this is very faulty.
Not only is the "Underground Biome" unoriginal and boring, it would cause massive lag and many problems. The void is supposed to be the bottom of the world.
Repeat, I hate this.
EDIT:
I also noticed this would interfere with other Biomes. Say you made a new world and this was added.
All the blocks would be Bedrock and what ever blocks you wanted.
Yeah....No...
Bedrock is meant to be unbreakable, So you can't go into the void. Because the void, is Death. (Although I do picture the End being somewhere in the void..But it wouldn't work out)
It'd also break all old saves, Because you'd need to move the World generation up more. Imagine walking in your old world...BAM Giant Cliff Get on top of it? Its a plains Biome. That would suck.

Do you know nothing of Minecraft? The void isn't a feature, it's a technical limitation. Honestly, what happened to doing your damn research...
Besides, you haven't suggested ANY new realm or justified why we need such a thing.

Underground biome under bedrock? Disapproved!
No support.
Bedrock helps prevent you from falling into the void accidentally while mining.
Underground biome? That would lag.
