Don't support since you can't make them and other then personal opinion there isn't a good reason. These would be harder to craft then iron golems and do less damage. Unlike iron golems blocks of gold have another use (gold apples) and gold is much more rare.
As for healing, pretty sure you can heal iron golems with splash potions. And later on we will have the Wip aura block.
What are you talking about?
You can't craft them, they're enemies.
He's saying that he would support it if you COULD craft it. He's wrong though. That would be OP.
That's Exactly The Thing People Asking For Crafting Don't Understand. It's Perfectly Balanced, So Players Can Fight It Without Worry Of Losing Automatically Or Winning Instantly. However, Due To The Fact Of It's Abilities And Activation And It's Stats, Players Using Them Would Be Overpowered And Could Cause Some Serious Greifing. We've Discussed This On The Thread Dozens Of Times, They Will Never Be Used By A Player Unless The Current Stats And Abilities Of The Golem Change.....
I love the concept, no doubt about that, but for some reason it doesn't sound really original... I DO want this to be added to vanilla minecraft, but its not very satisfying to me, sorry.
That's alright. Its up to Dinnerbone in the end anyways
what would be the point in just finding one...
i wanna be able to atleast make one, llittle bastards just gonna wonder off anyway so why not just enjoy building one??

1. 5-10 hearts is not a lot of damage to a player wearing armor (Diamond is something like 80% damage reduction). If it was added mob damage is based off difficulty. Since most servers run on easy the damage would be reduced (All minecraft mobs are effected by this). It would be turned into something like 2-5 hearts damage on those servers and iron armor would reduce that like 60%.
2. Once you built it, it would be stuck in that area forever. All a player has to do is move and that golem will never bother them again. If the spot is important, iron golems can take them out. Which is only fair since iron golems are easy to make, even more so then gold.
3. Gold is rare
4. less hp/damage then an iron golem
5. The same mob can have different ai (Skills are ai) Iron golems villagers make attack the player, guard town, give flowers. Iron golems the player makes don't care if you kill an entire village.
6. If it is spawn camping you and you instant respawn each time. It will not have a chance to heal.
All you would do is add a little code
If spawned by player, follow iron golems attack code.

They Don't move unless you come near! DID YOU READ IT EITHER?
it wudnt be very satisfying
plus if u wud add it the golden golems shudnt hav a lot of health compared to the iron golems since it applies to the chart of durability
in fact we shud hav sum1 make the diamond golems

Agreed. Also to add my opinion, the entrances of pyramids are to small for the golem to fit through. So no one else who posts afte this can say it will "wander off".
Say, the player places a chest NEAR the pyramid, to store items before the battle, the Golem would run out and kill the player (problem 1.). If he manages to do so, you won't get your items back, cuz the golem is defending it (problem 2.). Also, the pressure plates in the pyramid are made of stone. You could just break the chest, take the items and run off. Also, how would the golem then reach you while the entrance to the chest room is locked?
Lots of details you have to take care of. First deal with these. Then go on promoting it.
It's Not Meant To Defend To Chest Area, It's Meant To Be Fought. It's An Obstacle Incredibly Hard To Avoid. Adding These Means Changing Temples.........

1: he can't fit through the door. 2:He isn't in the chest room
I like the name Gold Golem better than Gold Guardian, but if it means shutting up these trolls who insist on it being crafted then by all means CHANGE IT!
But in all seriousness I like this idea, it should be implemented immediately! It would add a little more challenge to the game. And you know what they say about Minecraft. "I'd rather make the game too difficult than too easy." (I found that at minecraft.net under the "About the Game section :P) I support this idea!

Ive seen someof ths stupidest golem ideas, apple and dirt for a start. But this one is AMAZING, I mean already look for both mob and spawn egg and full info thats the best I've seen so far, hope its implemented. DIAMOND FOR YOU MY GOOD SIR!!!!
Uh oh, It seems the Signature Link is Broken, Anyone know what went wrong?

No New Post? Thats Odd...
these would be awesome if they expanded the desert temples
think about this: dogging arrows and fighting mobs through a sandstone maze and then you see the throne room full of gold, iron, and what your little miner mind was wanting diamonds. but guarding this room of riches is a pair of gold golems waiting to attack any person who is brave enough to cross their path.
Actually, desert temples make sense for Golden Guardians as well since egyptians liked to use gold and lapis lazuli. Something about gold being the skin of gods and lapis lazuli being tears or eyes or something.
