Hunger goes down, mobs don't spawn, makes it so you have to farm, just no worries of mobs. Not a great idea, but it settles issues for those who want hunger and no mobs. Semi-peaceful can also turn of health regeneration.
The term "peaceful" doesn't always mean there is no death, if you want absolutely no death go to creative. Hunger could still exist, as peaceful really only means no mobs. I can understand the point of view from someone who wants to keep hunger out of it, thus the Semi-peaceful difficulty option would help quite substantially.
No, despite the fact my kingdom he large farms, I DO NOT want my hunger bar to go down on peaceful. Heck, I DID NOT ever like the hunger bar in the first place. I need all my land to sustain my kingdoms growing population of NPCs and the last thing I want is to waste the land to grow food and raise livestock. Unless, you make a super peaceful were your hunger bar does not go down, if not, lemme show you the door....
Are you serious? The entire point of peaceful mode is for pepole not have to die, this would make peaceful server not peaceful servers and pepole will need to get food. What's next, Hostile mobs spawn on peaceful? If you want hunger to go down but easy minecraf play easy mode
Worst Idea Ever
Then what the Fack is lava? Yeah right, Lava despawning in Peaceful >_> So how will em reach The Nether?
Really, this just isn't something worth trying to make into an argument. I'm simply talking about "peaceful" as another videogame mode, not a literal term for never needing food in real life. Either way, I myself don't see that good of a reason to add hunger to every single game mode.
You are the one who turned it into an argument, I simply corrected someone on the definition of peaceful and then you complain to me that this is a video game which has nothing to do with my first post. Besides, many other people have said the same thing and you haven't said a word to them, anymore of you arguing with me over nothing that has anything to do with what I said will be taken as trolling.
Back on topic though, I support the idea of semi-peaceful.
No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...
In my opinion, peaceful is supposed to be played without need to worry about health. Large drops and lava is easy enough to avoid if you're careful, but hunger can get you whenever you're unprepared. If a newbie at minecraft died from hunger because he didn't know what a sword was and couldn't figure out how to to kill the pig after hitting it a few times, it would not only be sad for him, but for the community. Peaceful was designed to be a mode where you could just relax and watch the sunset without worrying about starving to death.
i like the idea of hunger being toggleable, but it should only be toggleable on easy and peaceful.
I agree. There are times when I don't want to deal with mobs, but still want an element of environmental challenge. (I also miss hunger on peaceful, though I understand why people really don't want it.)
Hunger should be a toggleable option that can be turned on/off in any difficulty, with the exception of hunger being locked on in hardcore mode for obvious reasons.
I know right its annoying because i killed heaps of animals and realised that you dont lose hunger so i have to go on easy and i had no sword creeper comes and blows up my house. Mojang in 1.4 make hunger bar go down in Peaceful Mode
No no. Peacful involves not worrying about things like the hunger bar... But what I'm confused about is why you want the hunger bar to go down if you want to play "classic survival". I mean the last time there were no mobs was in survival test I think - And then wasn't hunger there for a loong time.
I agree with this. I have a world set on peaceful so I can mine without death by a creeper while turning a corner in a tunnel. I'd like to have a farm outside, also. Or if they can't make changes to peaceful mode, they should just add a new mode completely that only stops hostile mobs from spawning. You should still take fall damage and starve, just not have to worry about a creeper blowing your house to bits.
When will Minecraft stop updating? When pigs fly over the frozen plains of hell, twice in a blue moon, while Taylor Swift sings a song called, "Maybe I'm the Problem".
New difficulty: Semi-peaceful

But you can die.
WHAT?!
Danger zone.
This is a severely crappy idea
I am ninja'd far too often.
Using your logic, we should also eliminate fall damage, lava damage and cactus damage on Peaceful Mode.
You're an idiot.
or -1 me with your mind. One of them is less frustrating.
Whats unpeaceful about getting unhungry?
or -1 me with your mind. One of them is less frustrating.
So what was Peaceful intended for, again?
