Hello, this is an idea for Minecraft to be on the Wii U. The images and information in this topic are just ideas.
Do you own a Wii U, but not an Xbox, Playstation 3, etc. but want to know what it feels like to play Minecraft on a Video Game Console? Well then you've come to the right place! The following will contain the Controls
that would be used if Minecraft were on the Wii U, and other information.
Controls:
List of Controls:
Left Trigger: Attack/Destroy
Right Trigger: Use Item/Place Block
Left/Right Bumper: Scroll Hotbar
Left Analog Stick: Walk [Click it to Sprint]
Right Analog Stick: Aim/View
X: Jump
Y: Sneak/Crouch
A: Drop Item
D-Pad: Up - Open Chat. Down - Player List. Left - Take Screenshot [Can post to MiiVerse]. Right - Toggle Perspective.
+: Inventory
-: Options Menu [Can toggle Game Controls from Analog Mode to Stylus Mode]
Actually, I believe that Wii U Minecraft should use the TV as the gameplay-screen, and use the Gamepad as the inventory screen. As well, you could possibly use the Wii Remote as if it was a tool in-game. Think about it. Just shake your Wii remote and you're mining diamonds with your Iron Pickaxe. (heck Mojang could probably pay for a custom Wii remote they have the money)

I dunno, the controls seem too confusing, but that really depends on what Nintendo wants to do. And you didn't state how other mechanics like creative will work. A bit vague but it seems logical that minecraft should expand it's outreach in the gaming world.

Connect a gamepad (or other controller) to your computer (you can connect a wiimote to your computer as well), set up the keybindings, connect your computer to a tv, and play minecraft like that. It's a lot easier to install mods and custom maps like this as well.
Ok, maybe that was a bit off-topic, since this isn't about using a controller, but about using the console, and why would I mind it if Minecraft is released on an other console? I don't have a Wii U, so it doesn't really matter to me, but I have nothing against it.

Half support.
True, the controls do seem confusing, but i'm sure they're all necessary. I'll also definitely start expanding the information on this topic, I mean, after less than 1 day, 9 people have commented!! x3
Its coming to both the WiiU and 3DS, so you didn't really need to make this topic.
Proof? All I know is that Notch stated that it would make sense to have Minecraft on the Wii U. With the gamepad and all, but he doesn't expect to let them have it anytime soon. And one of the head developers at Nintendo (Not sure who it was, it may have been Miyamoto) said basically the same thing.
I believe Nintendo will bring Minecraft for the Wii U and 3DS sooner or later. I think that R was more suitable to Destroy/Attack, and L for Use Item/Place Block. I think that the gamepad could be a little more "useful". You aim to the Enchantment Table, example. The Enchantment table screen wil be automatically on the gamepad. The Inventory with the 2X2, can be acessed without aiming something like Anvil, Workbench, Furnace.
I like how you actually took the time to think of the controls and weren't just like "pls add mojang".
I do like SnappCraftForums' idea of the gamepad being used for the inventory.
Either way, I support this.

Perhaps if you're in the GUI for a furnace, anvil, etc. you could have the normal 2x2 crafting grid and armor slots for the normal inventory, on the gamepad.
it doesnt matter too me i own the xbox verison i own the ps3 version am getting the vita version (physical copy) and am getting the ps4 version so i would not buy the wii u version but just to say if it does come out its going to have the same controls has the other versions (who knows about the vita one) (the ps3 and 360 versions are the same just different buttons due to the controller i hope the ps4 and xb1 version are the same controls as well cause i really enjoy them)
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Xbox_360_Edition there is the 360 versions you can find what the controls are for it cause it would be the same if minecraft ever went on wii u (which just to say its not that likely cause they just signed a contract with sony and MS)

i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed

You have no idea how much I want my favourite game in the world to be played on my Wii U!
To all of you saying that the inventory should be on the gamepad:
How about off-screen TV play?

Gloops and Glops!
Prepare for loads of sarcasm.

Don't be afraid to report vague, wishlisty, or redundant (Maybe all three) suggestions. Leave a post saying what's wrong.
