Just wondering when we are going to get all the stuff the PC version has?
Like all the ore's? The blocks? Able to download maps for the PC to the xbox?
Didn't anyone think of this already? And if so when is it going to happen? :/
downloading from PC to Xbox is damn near impossible, the map sizes alone are too different, Xbox maps are way smaller than PC, and the programming is too different because the PC version is Mojang directly but the Xbox (and PS3 I Think) are converted by 4J studios. believe me, i'd love to be able to connect to my PC server through Xbox one day but I doubt it will ever happen.
If they could just make the console versions exactly like the PC versions don't you think they would have?
The hardware involved is completely different, let alone the platform languages the various consoles use. Certain features of the PC like map trading between platforms are just not possible due to not only the hardware constraints of the various platforms but the policies of the platform owners as well. As far as not being on the same update, that was a conscious decision made by both Mojang and 4JStudios. They felt it was better to start with an alpha version of the game and update it little by little. The reasons they decided this are fairly obvious.
1) Minecraft is a far more complex a game than people give it credit for and fully releasing an up to date version would have taken years of play-testing on each console to get the bugs out. Years that the game would not be available.
2) By starting with an alpha version of the game console players would be able to play the game much earlier and become used to basic features before more advanced features were introduced, thus mimicking the development cycle of the PC version as it came out.
3) Releasing an up to date version is impossible because the PC version is still constantly releasing snapshots and updates. They would have ended up chasing their own tails so to speak. The PC version will always be ahead of the console versions. Period.
tomorrow. The entire thing is going to be exactly like the PC with every single feature perfectly translated, and it will be 100% free to you, tomorrow.

It's not very likely that the Xbox version will get all of the same features the PC version has. There are certain constraints that restrict some of the PC features from being on the Xbox due to current hardware differences. Does this mean it will never happen though? It might be possible one day for a future gen system to be able to handle all of the same features that the future PC versions will have.

I'm pretty sure Xbox One and PS4 could easily handle all that Vanilla Minecraft currently has and is getting on the PC.
The only thing that is stopping them from doing it is the restrictions that Microsoft and Sony have on their consoles. Things like save file size, how much memory is allowed to be used out of what the console has, etc, etc.

I am 110% positive the xbox version can be made like the pc version. Only reason I say that and am so confident in it able to happen is because Deep Silver the company who just made sacred 3 for pc, xbox, xboxone and ps4. And the team before them that made sacred and sacred 2 where fully able to make the game that was originally for pc into the xbox and playstation versions with all and every known feature from the pc version.
So to me if 2 other company's can do it then I'm sure it can be done with minecraft

Minecraft is completely different than the Sacred games. I really don't want to explain all of it for the umpteenth time on this forum as to why it would be hard for the 360 to handle all of Minecraft.
Suffice it to say that Minecraft is unlike any other video game you would use as an example, especially the Sacred games.
You know, if you want the facts on how the Xbox limitations are, refer here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_technical_specifications
it says that the hardware is very different and cannot support certain things becuase of limited memory it has.

I should have mentioned this in my previous post, but I was primarily referring to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. As far as the Xbox One and PS4 go, I'm pretty sure they will get almost all of the same features as the PC version, but there are a few aspects that probably won't make it.

Different time zone, when I read your previous comment it said that it was posted yesterday.

Ah, but it was posted yesterday, you read it today, and tomorrow is yet to come! It all works out, even with time zones!
