This is what I've been doing over the past... few...
Well, as you can see, it is a very poor trailer to a pretty short map (if you know what you're doing). It is the result of me trying to get a use out of the Random RPG like encouter system I made and it has some other stuff too... like riddles and Psyenergy. Please report any bugs...
This map was heavily inspired by the first Dungeon of one of my all time favourite Games. Golden Sun. It is an RPG for the GBA and has tons of great stuff in it. Highly recommendable if you like FF for example.
Instructions to play:
When you load the map, there is a Wooden Button on the left side. Mute your Speakers, not the game through the ingame Menu, and push it. Your Game will freeze momentarily so don't panic or close the game. After some time, shouldn't be longer than 1 min, the game will unfreeze and you can proceed with the map. This is to load the music in the provided Resourcepack that you don't lag mid game. This pack will load automatically so just Drag n' Drop the save file into your .minecraft/save folder and play.
This map was made for 14w20b and works fully with it. Any lower game versions may break the map. May work with 1.8 when it's out and the featured features are still in there)
A render distance of 12 is recommended.
Play on Easy+, depending on how hard you want it. Not Peaceful as the RPG like Random Encounter system needs some monsters to be slain & sacrificed to be pleased.
Tip:
Read the Itemtexts as they give hints on what you can use the items for.
+ Some Possibility to possibly flee from a battle. You won't get a reward of you flee even if you kill 2 out of 3 monsters.
+ Some New Option to dis-/enable RRPGlES to not encounter monsters. The
button to do this is about 5 blocks left from where you spawn.
Seems pretty nice, better than mine lol
You have lots of experience of command blocks don't you?
I made my map but it's currently a concept but at least you did a very good job!

Thanks ^^. Actually this is my first time really doing stuff with commandblocks. I at first thought it was extremely complicated to learn and use but with the new 1.8 commands I gave it a try and turns out, it is awesomely not that hard... It took me 1.5 weeks or so to make this map from scratch with building, debugging, fiddling around and finding out how I can do stuff different or even betterererer, so time is a something you have to have in mind if you try to learn this. Or you're just good at learning and learn it within a day or so.
Good job, it was pretty fun to play. I think you could make the map longer and also include a good description of what you're supposed to do, I found myself puzzled in some parts of the map.
Thank you too. Originally, this map was only built around my Random RPG like Ecounter System concept but things got out of hand and suddenly this map you see here came out. It was really time consuming to make this and I wanted to keep it at the same lenght as the original GS Dungeon. You can take it as extended proof of concept,
PS: I now added more Objectives to kinda give more hints.

To prevent the freeze, you just have to include a file called "sounds.json" in resources.zip\assets\minecraft\
In the sounds.json, you have to write something like this:
great map but i'm stuck at room to fight the mobs. you can see it on my video my first 10 minute review video of your map
Thanks for the video, helped me analyze what went wrong and some other problems. Appearently the skeleton killed the zombie which led to you not getting the point for killing the zombie which ultimately led to the victorycycle not to initiate,
For that problem I now added the flee option to the battles. You won't get any rewards if you use it even if you kill 2 out of 3 monsters. If you fear the music is copyrighted, fear not, it isn't as fasr as I know.
PS: The music is part of the map which you should have loaded before you entered the place by the way. I also added a sign at the entrance because I think the majority doesn't read the text in the chat. Thank you for your bugreport.
Really fun and impressive. For me it was a bit laggy at first, especially when I encountered monsters (the game would freeze up, then when it unfroze I'd be dead),...
Thanks.
Now, it seems that you didn't load the music in the first place. That prevents further lag caused by the music.
... I walked back near the nether portal and got teleported back to the star room: The Guardian told me I could use the retreat potion once I was outside the room, which is where I messed up a bit. Because I couldn't find a way out of the room, I tried drinking the retreat potion and nothing happened. It then occured to me to use /kill to get out of the room, but now I don't have any retreat potions, and I can't fight any monsters to get more because I've reached Level 5 and they're all hiding. Other than this situation which is pretty much down to me being stupid...
I now fixed this, you shouldn't be able to get back to the star room after The Guardian teleported you out. Also, Did you use the 14w20b Snapshot? There should have been a title right in the middle of the screen which says "New Objective: Get out of here!" I wanted to keep the Objectives as clear and short as possible as the title doesn't allow two rows of subtitles. It also could be that you played and older versio of the map which didn't have the titles...
...the only glitches I've noticed are that, in the room with the water moat and the pillars you have to move, the pistons don't retract/disappear, so I had to switch into survival to break them. Another is that, after I went to the emerald room, the 'I wasn't really sure what to do ... Yes! Satisfaction!' speech starts popping up randomly every now and then.
I could not replicate those bugs. Do you have a slower computer? This could cause some bugs with the map. Those bugs also pop up if you use lower versions of Snapshots. Thanks for the bugreport.
PS: The Message in the Emeraldroom is kinda an Easteregg for people who played GS. Not a very good one but still an Easteregg . The room itself has no purpose to the "storyline"
To prevent the freeze, you just have to include a file called "sounds.json" in resources.zip\assets\minecraft\ In the sounds.json, you have to write something like this:
And then: "/playsound victory @a" to play the sounds "victory.ogg" stored in sounds/custom/
Thanks for the tip.
There is a problem to it though. This map has a lot of music changes since there are battles which change the music, victory which changes it and areas which change it. Since there isn't currently a way to /stopsound or something like that with a command, I had to use a property of the soundengine of Minecraft.
It isn't able to play a lot of mobsounds at the same time so it will only play the most recent ones. That is why the musicfiles are in the mob/wither, /enderdragon and /horse folders. I hooked up some commandblocks with an edited muted soundfile to overload the Soundengine that it stops the "old" music and plays just the muted file. 1 Tick later the "young" music kicks in. That way I could stop and start music at will. The .json would prevent the music from being overloaded and it wouldn't stop.
do you have the right to use the music because youtube may ask for music track permission and I am going to make a let's play series? anyway, your map is very well-made though it's little bit lag.

I suspected that might be your problem. As far as I know, it isn't Copyrighted and I have full permission by the maker.
This is what happened with move on my second attempt(my first one crashed my game from the music pack)
Also, it may be worth noting that the cure ability didn't work after this(the system cleared me of the speed effect, but it didn't heal me, give me the potion back, or clear the glass bottle). The cure powerup worked before this bug, but not after.

Thank you for the Screenshot! It really helped to corner the problem.
The problem seems to be unfinished cloning due to the Render distance. I wrote wrongly 10 would be enough which is what I assume you had. Please excuse my mistake. Have it at least at 12 for then the commandblocks responsible for it can clone stuff. 12 chunks is 4 chunks above normal Render distance and should be able to be handled I think. It also explains the Regenpotionthing because the CBs responsible are around where the /clone should clone...
You shouldn't get speed though... where did you get speed from?
Now for the music, did you load it with the wooden button at the beginning? The game does freeze and doesn't response except with a lot of music overlaping but shouldn't crash. Just wait a few seconds, it really shouldn't last longer than 1 minute.
PS: Thanks again for the Screenshot, it helped a bunch. But seriously, where did you get the speed from...
to answer your questions:
1. I got the speed from the cure potion bottle(i would think that's the effect from the potion color).
2. The first time I loaded it, I did press the wood button at the start. The music pack is just way too hard on some machines.
Also, thanks for correcting that error!

my first 10 minute review video of your map
To prevent the freeze, you just have to include a file called "sounds.json" in resources.zip\assets\minecraft\
In the sounds.json, you have to write something like this:
soundname is what you want to pu in your commandblock and filename is the path to the sound.
For you, it will be something like that:
You also also create non-vanilla sounds.
And then: "/playsound victory @a" to play the sounds "victory.ogg" stored in sounds/custom/
Latest map created: Mizzle III| Swapping Chunks | Replica
Thanks for the video, helped me analyze what went wrong and some other problems. Appearently the skeleton killed the zombie which led to you not getting the point for killing the zombie which ultimately led to the victorycycle not to initiate,
