The quality of the graphics would be based on the texture pack. Even the PC version comes with the crappy graphics of the default texture pack and looks just as terrible.
Yeah I wish they'd create a mid-res texture pack that looks like the R3D.CRAFT Default Realism set... or something like that. It would drastically improve on the default textures yet maintain the same feel.
Strange. It seems that the graphics are exactly the same. I expected more. A small improvement would be great.
It's probably just hard to tell from screenshots. Phil Spencer said "we're actually updating it in pretty significant ways for the new platform." I assume that also means graphically.

Minecraft will never receive a graphical update.
It's a 16-bit themed/inspired game. It's official version will remain as such. Changing what it looks like is what texture packs are for. It's Mojangs game and they will always keep it as 16-bit.
16 bit was super nintendo and sega genesis era, which was still a tiny prettier than this, think that minecraft is 8 bit?
65,536 blocks in a chunk. Each block has 6 sides so that's 393,216 block surfaces that have to be rendered per chunk. You can't compare a 2-dimensional game with a scrolling background with a 3-dimensional world with ever changing surfaces.

Flameo hotman! (please let someone get that reference) Now this is the kind of news I was waiting for! http://news.xbox.com...dition-announce Waiting until August is going to kill me though, it's been long enough as it is.
Here is the link from mojang's site with the news - https://mojang.com/2014/05/minecraft-on-xbox-one-ps4-and-ps-vita-soon/
FINALLY! I just wanted some kind of ballpark date and at least we got a month. Another bit of info is most (but not all) of the DLC will be coming over too and no transfer from the X1 to the 360.
One bit of possibly overlooked news that was slipped in with this bombshell announcement is that the existing 360 worlds that are imported into XB1 will indeed be expanded to the size of an XB1 world. There was speculation about whether or not this would be the case, and this little tidbit from the announcement seems to confirm it.
Players with Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition saves will be able to import their worlds to Xbox One. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer saves from Xbox One to Xbox 360. We can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems.
For me, this is pretty awesome news. I wonder how they will make that work logistically. I guess we'll find out in August! Plus, MCXB1 upgrade for only 5 dollars?!? I couldn't be more excited!
Kind of makes sense that you could make it bigger easier then shrinking it. We know the size of the 360 worlds so they just keep that static and build all around it. Going the other way would be problem cause once you get past that 360 limit it would be hard to reconfigure all you built into a smaller world. SO EXCITED!!!!

I don't see why anyone ever thought that if you transfered a 360 world to the Xbox One that it would stay that same size from the 360. It would completely defeat the purpose of transferring the save over in the first place.
Like I've said before in this thread and elsewhere, it's going to plop the 360 world in the center and generate around it. I hope people are ready for weird terrain glitches and the like because that is most definitely going to be an issue when transferring saves.
yep, u and me and everyone else has said it was gonna most likely be in the center, but its still speculation. It could give us a choice where we put it. Im actually hoping it does but can live with the most likely center result. Was hoping to put near a corner so i could build 3 other empires towards the other corners and have lots of skirmishes toward the center areas between the kingdoms dragons, boats, airships and siege engines. But if we get the center result ill just make four more empires and have them gangbang the center empire that ill make way larger in area than the new ones. Im also waiting for confirmation on actual world size (yes i saw the were working with 36x currently) and if any changes in size will occur in the end and nether areas, which i why i waited to do final builds in there. I really hope the nether at least gets a size boost. But still we have a month to look forward to, woot august is none to far away. Wish it wasnt at the end of the younglings who plays summer break tho, tough break kids, summer xbone MC denial.
And as I stated awhile back, all 3 versions will be released at roughly the same time, meaning that more or less the xbox one version was held back for the other console versions to be finished. Sad, but true, on the flip side, as long as you owned and played the game xbox live its only a 5$ upgrade cost, with most DLC transferring over as well. I think the DLC that won't transfer over will be the mash up packs.

I meant resolution and frame rate.
Ive heard its going to be 1080p 60fps on both Xb1 and ps4
That's what I was hoping for. I would like and official statement though, maybe soon. What are they on the 360 version?
