Concerning distance, will using a mob spawn editor to make mobs naturally spawn in certain biomes cause them to spawn irrespective of distance or will the distant requirement make such spawns only possible after hitting the distance stated in the config?
well their spawns are just like any other mob. so biome selection and all that does the same thing- just when they do spawn they will cancel the process if the distance is below a level. so think of it just like any other mob only after the distance.
The distance spawning uses the same code as something such as monsters only spawning in darkness
shame. i love the idea. i'v made a mod pack that make people take roles to survive and that one would have been ggreat. all my testers wanted something like that. guess i'll have to make my own. :\

ehh they were in the way, looked stupid, had little purpose and it seems no one knew what their purpose was or how to use them. They just used the vanilla system anyway and I never got to adding my own. If i did add my own method- theyd be more stuff anyway
I actually used the herbs, at least in the brewing stand -- if there was another way to make potions with them I didn't know it, though. Don't know if anyone else did.
Yeah, I did also eat the ginseng and marshmallow and used them as a kind of primitive horticulture until I could start real agriculture (now I let GrowthCraft substitute for that, though its a bit OP in that I no longer even need a farm for food). The herbs were also going to figure into the magic system I was dreaming up, though I doubt I'll ever get around to that now anyway.

Assuming another mod has not substituted in its own, entirely separate home brewed spawning system and taken over (Lycanite's Mobs seems to do this, though there is a config option about "control vanilla spawns" I haven't tried that might help; I do get dragons at spawn sometimes though).
nah there wasn't anything special there other than a brewing alternative. But the edible herbs was probably the most useful part of it. Growthcraft is a bit over the top on the different berries and such- hence hunger overhaul was made.
Growthcraft doesn't add berries, I think that's harvestcraft. Growthcraft adds just a few crops, bees, bamboo, fish traps, and brewing. Actually goes really well with minefantasy.

hey AP maybe you could add something into the config, maybe to be able to turn off renderingbecause if you put something from forge multiparts onto an anvil it will repeatedly crash
Who knows why.
Lack of creativity on the mod maker's part?
Anyways, I was wondering, the blocks in Mine Fantasy, like spindle, bellows, anvils, etc look like non-solid blocks, but in fact they are full, 1x1x1 solid blocks, right?
I was wondering, are you going to make them not full blocks, or will you leave them as it is?
They just feel a bit... akward
The main thing that makes GrowthCraft OP is that 4 apple trees or 1 fishtrip gives all the food you can eat and a lot more (the fishtap also giving other goodies) -- and tha'ts without bothering with hoppers. Mead takes a ong time to get going, but it gives a huge supply of regen potions, too. Earlier I used Natura for this, it does have berry bushes but they don't produce that fast or give that much hunger, so you have to build and hand pick a berry farm, a lot like the berries in TerrafirmaCraft; unfortunately I've had other problems with Natura.
I don't have too much of a problem with the hit boxes, though the anvil sometimes gets in the way of the forge (even though I'm clearing the model visually).
There was another thing that causes crashes that I wanted to report, but don't have the crash report or even remember what it was now -- maybe sometime later, if it happens again.
I think he meant are you going to adjust the hitboxes of those blocks to a size that fits the models Better, instead of a regular cube.
That would be impossible. blocks are cubes (give or take the sizes of each dimension). The only way the hitbox would get in the way if you have a bad setup

you mean an anvil..... Was going to make a carpenter bench though. and what's with the question mark seisure..
i'v been on the internet to long lol.

Not chests, or (vanilla) anvils.
They don't get in the way, not really, but the spinning wheel is really annoying, as it needs 3 sides open, and I have two blocks next to each other, they look like I can reach the side I need, but I can't because they are whole blocks. And sometimes, I see black/blank/white lines at the edges of the blocks, which is really annoying
