Good for them! I'm totally fine with Mojang earning more money for their game.
The only problem I see is that I think that whoever ports it over should make the game back in 1.6. So the Plastaytion Players have to wait for all the updates like we did. I know it sounds selfish but it would be unfair if they got the version we have when they received the game.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

I think that they if they do, they should port the version that we have now. There's no reason to 'bump' them back to 1.6. Actually, you do sound selfish/jealous.

Yes thank you for agreeing to what I called myself. And it was only my opinion but I knew no one else would agree.

That doesn't really make sense. It would be waste of their time because they would have to rewrite too much code.
I agree with Mustache_Guy, it's been inevitable that whenever the exclusive deal with Microsoft ran out, Mojang would pursue deals with other console makers. Notch and Jeb are a businessmen and will do whatever they think will make Mojang money. The more people playing the game on any platform, the more likely it is that Mojang will continue to put new ideas into it. The only thing that would concern me is if he somehow decided to stop servicing his Xbox players (on this console and possibly the next) with updates (given Notch's apparent personal feelings about Windows 8).
And it was only my opinion but I knew no one else would agree.
Of course not, because It doesn't make sense. That would be like someone, who contacted people to build a house, saying that nobody should be allowed to buy a pre-built house, since they had to wait for their own.
As for the topic, good for them. I already have my copy of Minecraft for the 360, so why would I be upset that it's being ported to another platform. Nobody was angry (that I know of) when they ported MC to the Raspberry Pi, I don't see this as being any different.
Minecraft on the Playstation would be an amazing thing to happen. My only wish would be to have it playable on my PS Vita, Even if its just the pocket edition.
Eh.... they have put it already on other systems(Pi). Who knows maybe there will still be some exclusives... And now there will be separate exclusives for the playstation... Kinda like how each system got a special character in Soul Calibur. It is not what system it is on that makes certain things exclusive, it is the content itself that does that.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Let the world bask in the greatness that is MineCraft!!! They should release it for the Wii, Wii-U, PS2. PS1, Original Xbox, Nintendo, SuperNintendo, Sega, Dreamcast... NeoGeo. And let MineCraft bring those systems back to life!!!
Sorry....

Check it out for awesome tutorials and constant content!
The link didn't work for me, but I still say good for them. It might be interesting to see how it develops over time, in comparison to the xbox version. Maybe whoever ports it will actually have a good idea on what content to add, and when, instead of this mismatched, half-working content pattern that xbox fell into.
Is it possible that having the game available on other systems will actually make the Xbox version better? A little competition is sometimes good. I'm guessing that the computer version is not competition, but having the game available on other consoles might be. I'm not saying 4j is doing a bad job - I think they're great - but sometimes even great can get better when pushed.
I think it's a great way to spread the joy of Minecraft to other playing platforms.
I have a Playstation as well so it doesn't really affect me but I know my a friend who only has a Playstation and doesn't have a good laptop enough to play on the PC version, so he might love it!
I just hope they keep the updates the same and not make special easter eggs separately for the systems...
Ign is not the best source to go with when it comes to "rumors"
In this case they are dead wrong, Mojang and Microsoft have an EXSCLUSIVE Contract. Also Mojang is very close with Microsoft and would not betray there friendship

The deal with Microsoft wasn't going to last forever.

i thought on that after i'd posted.. games like minecraft could be part of what encourages ps3 owners to become ps4 owners.
Be interesting to see what they can do with newer hardware.
