Hi. I wanna make a pixel art for the sharingan from naruto
but how do i prevent it from catching fire from lightning? i could use obsidian for the black but netherrack is the only red block i can think of besides wool but netherack wont look as good i think.
can someone let me know of a way to build this pixel art so that lightning cant set it on fire? and ive never made pixel art before. what kind of dimensions should i use?
That means, if you build pixel art, putting a cover over it will do nothing. Lightning will pass right through it.
im thinking of using obsidian for the black and having a layer of water over the red wool so it cant catch fire on top. no one can see the top part anyway. only concern is if it somehow catches fire from underneath.
but really, does anyone know what dimensions i should use? or have any templates or something?
"Lightning creates fire where it strikes. The accompanying rain can usually put out fires before they spread. Overhangs can prevent rain from putting out lightning fires, allowing the fire to spread."
Don't use netherrack for sure. While everyone else is correct in that rain WILL put out fires, it does NOT put out fires burning from netherrack. I know this for fact because I've got plenty of netherrack torches up around my house AND along a railway leading to my mine. These never go out, even in rain. So using that material might cause your wool you DO use to burn up if its lit by a bolt.

So that is why the fire on the Netherrack did not go out on my friend's world. Thank you for the information.
Not sure how true this is but I heard lightning tries to go directly to ground, like real lightning. My friend built his pixel art 2 blocks above theround and has never been hit by lightning or set on fire. maybe you can try that and see if it works for you
Hey mate, I've been doing pixel art for a while, if you want to use dimensions or templates, I got a good secret for ya, take that image, resize it using paint or something like that, zoom in. Copy it block for block.

From the MinecraftWiki.
So lightning should not be a problem.
I do not know about what dimensions you should use, sorry.
