I just recently bought Minecraft for Xbox 360, and I'm trying to start an animal farm, but no animals will follow me when I have wheat? I'm guessing maybe you can't do that in the xbox version or something, if tthys the case is there any other way to make an animal farm? Any help would be appriciated.
The only way you can make a farm is by digging a hole big enough that the animals can't escape. Sorry but wheat doesn't attract animals in this version.
The next update is 1.8.2. After that, they will update to 1.2.3. It is this second update (1.2.3, which will include 1.9 features and forward) that will introduce Breeding, so we're still awhile away.

They despawn when you leave the area. So you cant make any kind of farm unless you're staying close to them. 1.8 passive mobs dont despawn.
Since I've been waiting for the update to fix this, I've found my own traps to be rather successful. I create a huge grassy area outside one of my shelters, fence the whole thing in (with a door as a gate). Then I put one block of dirt on the outside all the way around. The animals can wander over the dirt and across the top of the fence, but can't get back out. It's random what animal group spawns every morning, but I've grown to enjoy that... "Look, we've been blessed with cows. Again." I hate cows.

Please don't make false assumptions. There are already enough rumors floating around. Besides, a couple months is a little extreme.
But it is ok for you to assume my assumption is "extreme"? First of all, I would rather assume it is coming out later and have it come out early, rather than expect it next week and have to wait 3 months for it. Second, keep in mind it took the 1.7.3 update 2 months to come out when it took less than a month and a half for the pc version. It took 2 months for 1.8.1 for the PC verion. I expect it to take just as long for the Xbox 360, especially if they have a bug fix update inbetween. 2 Months is not that far-fetched.
You also need to know there are quite a few videos out there that are PC specific. Some of the xbox ones will also need updating now we have just had the recent update for shears, sticky pistons, fence stackking etc. Reading the wiki information pages gets confusing as some of the features are pc only at the moment. Short summary, there is no way to grow melons coco and, pumpkins. Not all Bios are in xbox like jungles, npc villages (unless playing the tutorial), abandon mines, no magic or fortresses etc Welcome to the world of minecraft, be patient they are working on catching us up to the PC version.
If you want to check out what we have check the search on the xbox forum to see if anyone has covered it before. If after all that reading you still are confused, just ask.
They're converting code that they already have access to. In addition, 1.8 files have been in Minecraft on the Xbox since its release back in May. There was a decent amount of work done on 1.8 before the game was even released.
