Since MCPE is mobile i only suspect that this update is to bring multiplayer on the go, as in using mobile data. This is going to be it's beta stage i believe and somewhere around 1,000 - 100,000 people will get to host servers(rumors? I have no source). How will those people be chosen? It's simple. MCPE will detect what form of data the player is using. The first priority being super fast 4G LTE, then simple 4G, then 3G, then Wifi. Of course it will be more complex with the mobile data categories as MCPE will test the bandwith, ping, DL and UL speeds. The people with the higher speeds that meet the criteria in the app will be chosen first then so on.
I believe this is how people will be chosen, and if it's not then i believe this is a great way to chose those who get to host.
You seem to have really thought this out and know a bit about it all and I as well heard that only about 10k players could host or somewhere around those lines. How will the white listing work? like if you get white listed can you join anytime the server is up, or do you have to be reinvited? Also will people with androids playing Mcpe be able to play with people on IOS with ipods ect?
If I helped you with something or a question of some sort, or you believe in my opinion,Maybe you just feel like being nice :D, giving me some rep is greatly appreciated.

Well if it's just around 10k then these rules may still apply, but those with the best speeds will still be testers. Seeing as Mojang is making us making accounts then i believe it will be limited to "friends only" as in those who have the account as friendly.

DUDE, ITS NOT HOSTED ON THE CLIENT SIDE, IT WILL BE HOSTED ON MOJANG SERVERS. HAVE YOU NOT HEARD THE NEWS? THE SERVERS WILL BE 24/7 ON MOJANG SERVERS. GOD. GET YOUR INFORMATION RIGHT. WHY WOULD MOJANG WORK ALL THIS TIME JUST TO HAVE A MULTIPLAYER WHERE THE SERVER IS HOSTED ON THE CLIENTS SIDE?

Once again, think about what you're saying and reply again.

Nice thinking here, but unfortunately many countries dont have 4g yet, and why would wifi be given last preference? It's faster(in most cases) than 3G...

Any how we'll have to wait and see.
I put wifi last because the main reason for having them include Realms is to play on the go. Not in your house.
What Kevin said...Mojang hosts the servers and its not client side at all. Since Mojang hosts the servers on their own, using their own RAM/DATA its the reason why their charging us a fee every month for a MCPE realms server.

OMG! I give up. clearly people cannot comprehend what's being said.
I just don't think they will look at how fast the hosts internet is... I just think they look @ how much experience one has and how frequent the person online is.
I'm sorry if I'm being dumb...but experience? And how would they calculate how frequent a person is online.

I would really hate to build whole minecraft a worlds when I'm on a train or bus, I would prefer being on the couch in my house and playing for hours together, anyway that's just my opinion, but I do think it's silly.

You obviously dont understand that this is just the beta stage and it's also client side. So yeah, see your way out of this topic.
