Where are you advertising? What seperates you from ProjectWonderful or Slot resellers?
Thank you for pointing out a fairly crucial mistake with the update for this threads main post (now fixed). What differentiates us from other advertisers is that we are delivering the ads within the game.

Yeah, thanks.. That's a very interesting method. I came to this Topic thinking this was a Project Wonderful or Sponsored reseller... Loving the bootstrap, good luck with sales.
I was wondering if there is going to be a forum added to your website where advertisers and server owners could talk with each other, and where a more organized Q&A could be.

Hi dragonsjet,
We have considered it, and we will most probably be implementing such a forum after we release the overhaul. Till that's completed, everything else is taking a back burner.
We are working as hard as possible on getting the overhaul out the door, and the ads back up. I unfortunately cannot give you an ETA, but I will post as soon as I have news. We want the overhaul to be complete, and server owners to begin earning money just-as-much, if-not-more than you do!
I was wondering about how much server owners would earn per view.
Per View?
Do you mean per click?
It is determined by your server's percentage of clicks, so there is no fixed PPC. For example, If there is 1 advertiser advertising for $1 a day, then all they servers split that $1, so if your server gets 10 clicks and there are 100 total clicks that day, each click is worth 1% of total, so 1% of total revenue. Therefore each click would give you $0.01, However, if your server had 10 clicks and all the other servers had 0, so the total clicks that day was 10, each click would pay $0.10. So, when determining how much you make, you need to think in percentages, not pure click #s, So find out how much money you will make, find total money being spent in a day, divide your earnings by that # and get your %, then multiply they total money by that % to get an estimate of how much you will get every day.
Alright I mis understood I thought the plugin announced the ad directly into chat instead of a link. I then thought you were payed per view because the plugin gathers statistics which it then finds how much money you would receive. So those statistics are just how
Many clicks?
I also haven't earned anything yet because the ads are being being held back until the overhaul of adventurize is over so. My percent is 0% and I make $0 per month

if it was per veiw then you could set it to show an ad every 1 second and get rich by abusing the system.
As of this moment, no major news. It's coming along slowly, but surely. Again, our deepest apologies for not getting this out sooner, we want it as much as you do, and are doing our best to complete it. Will keep you updated.
This seems like a really great idea, from the point of view of server owners. But if ads are distracting I'd be concerned it would keep players away. There are thousands of minecraft servers and just about all of them don't have ads. Why wouldnt players just go to another server equally as good without any distracting advertisements?
You are only going to attract small servers that can't enough donations. Large servers that have enough people to actually make profit from these ads already get enough donations to cover server bills. I really like the idea of this but don't see it becoming that popular or going very far.

Hi WorldWideWicket,
Thank you for your feedback! And now to address your concerns (in reverse order):
We are not looking to place ads on servers that get enough donations each month to continue running. If they can survive on their own, may they live long and prosper. Unfortunately, most servers are not large, nor self sufficient; they rely on user donations which are at best, sporadic, and at worst, nonexistent. The majority of those servers shut down once the server owner can no longer afford to dish out the funds that are required to keep a server running. We would rather those servers continue to survive, and give them the chance to grow, albeit with ads, then die out.
As for keeping players away; players who are already a part of a server community, if made to understand that the server cannot continue to exist due to financial problems, are unlikely to find a single unobtrusive ad displayed every five minutes to be overly bothersome. And players looking to join a server, are looking for a friendly community to be a part of, and so again, an ad every five minutes is not a major deal breaker. And yes, some will leave for others servers, but if they're leaving, chances are it was more than the ads that did not appeal to them.
I hope this answers your concerns, if you should have any additional feedback, please do comment!

They way the revenue from the ads works is (correct me if I'm wrong) from clicks, not views. And the server owners will needs A LOT of clicks to make more than pennies from this service. I understand the servers you are trying to appeal to. I just feel like the smaller servers you are targeting will not be able to actually raise as much money as they need to survive, because they don't have that many people and the ads will be mostly ignored. Where as, a lot more money could be made by bigger servers using this. But bigger servers can typically pay for themselves anyway.

I haven't actually seen the ads so I guess it's hard for me to judge how distracting they are. This makes sense, I wouldn't mind seeing something small if I knew it would help the server.
Maybe you could post some example ads on this OP of this topic?
