Hey guys! So I am a moderator on a new survival/factions server. The owner knows I know plugins and he's a noob at permissions so he asked me to write his PermissionsEX file. I did, and he was satisfied with it and then I thought, "You know what? Alot of people seem to want premade permissions files or they don't know how to do it, so why not post it to help people out?" So here it is.
So go into you plugins folder, navigate to PermissionsEX, delete the current permissions.yml file with this one and your all done. Now if you don't know how to edit it then post a comment below and I will assist you. Now note, I wrote this completely by hand, no template, so there may be issues. If there are post below and I can fix it. Hope this helps some of you!
(P.S, did I help you? Feel free to hit the reputation button to give me a one up)

I love this! I'll have to start directing people to this. Thank you for posting this.
(I think you forgot to do prefixes lol)
And that's what I was mainly trying to edit in the first place :/ I'll see if I can fix.
Also, it has been reported to me that if you have already editted the original PEX permissions file then you may encounter issues when replace it with and using my permissions.yml. I will see if I can troubleshoot the issue and fix it as soon as possible.
I got the permissions and config.yml's into each respective folders in the plugins folder. Some reason when I or someone else joins the server, everyone gets de-moted, no perms can be used even if I'm op-ed and when i check my CMD, it says "error occured with permmisionEx!"

here is what happened in CMD:
its an error, I'd review over your file for anything that could have been miss type or miss spaced
how come after i put it in i lost my owner perms and i cant do anything on my server and on command prompt?? help??? also when i did the pex user <IGN> group add <group name> it said error D:
You need to add a permissionsex ranks-ladder. You can do
/pex group {GROUP} rank {#}
to set the ladder rank for that group.
Example: /pex group player rank 10
/pex group member rank 9
(Whatever ones in between)
/pex group mod rank 3
/pex group admin rank 2
/pex group owner rank 1
And then add the ladder name, which, by default, is default, so you can add default at the end of all the permissions once you've done that to add them to the ladder.
Then you can do /promote {IGN}
The problem you had was you might've not had a ladder, so it could not recognize it.
Hope this helps!

Did you know that if you drop that thun thun thun, it makes a mess EVERYWHERE!
I have a few questions I was wondering if someone could answer. I have a basic understanding of the PEX permissions/groups/inheritance. Using the Command reference I noticed the command /rules. Then noticed that the rules are to be formatted into the config.yml. (According to the Plugin MineCraft : Essentials wiki) http://verywiki.net/...ft_:_EssentialsSo my questions are, does the /rule provide text configured in the config stating the rules of the server? Or are they server rule presets (such as banned ID blocks or items) And if they are the prior how would I go about formatting the "rules" of my server. My intent is to supply everyone on my server the /rules command and producing a message upon login to "/rules to view the Rules" instead of the silly sign rules that so many servers use. I believe spawning into a world with a wall of signs stating the common "Do Not ask for items/to be OP'd, Do not spam" (usual givens) can really take away from the aesthetics of a spawn town/marketplace. Also, is there a way to create a custom command, such as /lore to be given texts stating the lore of the server (of which I know I can create a book with such texts created/given to every new login/default user, but I think this would be a clean innovative way to approach the issue. Also note I apologize for asking for asking such questions, I am normally a self-learner whom has no problem reading through forums or doing simple searches to find my answers. yet alas such queries has produced squat on the matters. Any help/answers/guidance would be deeply appreciated.
Aaaaaand yet one more question, just tried to search for this but again kept finding general "how to" stuff I already know. Is there a way to give permissions to an entire category of commands ie the General commands?

I will try that thanks.
Because not everyone use factions. You'll have to add them yourself.

For problems like that I suggest trying to go to the Permissions Workshop.
