invalid maximum heap size -Xmx5120m
the specified size exceeds the maximum representable size.
could not create the jana virtual machine.
this is what I have in my RUN.bat file

Just a guess but I believe if you have installed Java x64, it shouldn't be in: "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"
Maybe more along the lines of:
"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"
(check your x64 installation, esp. if its jre7 rather than 6)

I checked and it is installed in programfiles(x86)\java\jre6\bin\java.exe do I need to upgrade? I went on the site and it said I had the latest version of java. Will it only work if I use java7?
That worked, the issue was that after installing java6 x64 the file no longer existed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java it was in C:\Windows\System32\java.exe so once i put the new location it worked like a charm. Now i'm using the code
@ECHO OFF
SET BINDIR=%~dp0
CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"C:\Windows\System32\java.exe" -Xmx5g -Xms2g -jar craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

it works and seems to function.
