Well, there's something in your local network or on the host computer that's stopping people from connecting. Hamachi is a VPN and most likely bypasses firewalls, routers and NAT's.
There's no way to give a general solution that will work for everybody because everyone runs with different software and hardware. Here's a few ideas for troubleshooting though:
1) Close all software you don't need, if that solves the problem narrow it down app by app
2) If possible, connect straight to the modem, bypassing routers, or connect through a router/modem from a DMZ, if that solves the problem, double check the configuration on the router.

I connect to it fine with http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?ip=12 ... port=25565
I tried giving other's this http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?ip=76 ... port=25565
And they can't connect. What have I done wrong?
"Don't be a smartass."
"More like smartgrass am I right?"
Open up your server folder and open the externalurl file. Give them that. It should be a random string of letters and numbers.
Don't work either. Only way they can connect is through Hamachi.

Sounds like a firewall.
Hamachi works by bypassing your firewall to open a connection to a server.
Try turning off Windows Firewall or checking your router.
Tried it before. I have no firewalls running.

edit:sorry didnt see first line, but give us more details on your configuration, for your port forwarding.
Firewalls (I know but check ALL Firewalls, custom firewalls, windows firewalls, and check your network connections and see if it's firewalled too.)
Anti Viruses/Anti Spywares (These can sometimes block ports, or programs.
Hamachi (As crazy as it sounds, it sometimes does conflict with hosting some things.)
Other people (They might not be able to join peoples games period.)
Some other force (It might just be another program. It's better to look up all of your processes in the background, and see what they do.)
Former #minecraft channel operator.
Are you sure you forwarded the right port?
And to the right IP?
