So I just bought a new computer with these general specs: 2nd gen Intel i7, 8gb DDR3 ram, Radeon HD 6770m 2gb, 750gb 7200rpm HDD, 1920x1080 display
Its a HP pavilion dv6t quad, I have tried all the different graphic settings on the computer and radeons software, updating the driver etc, ive used different display settings all the way down to 800x640, running minecraft fullscreen and using all the lowest settings on minecrafts video options and i still get 5-15 fps with recurrent spikes of total lag at 4 sec intervals no matter what I do.
Just to compare, Portal runs smooth as a baby at full graphics at 1920x1080 resolution.
What am I doing wrong? I just want to play minecraft :sad.gif:

With 8Gb of RAM you should be running a 64bt OS, so get the x64 version.
This solved lag issues I was having, hope it helps you.
