You watch a first episode of a let's play, all they do is go around punching wood and trying to dig dirt blocks to save themselves from zombies... BORING.
I believe that the first episode of a let's play should skip all that boring crap that happens in the beginning, and get down to business!! People don't want to watch the struggle, they want to watch the successes! So next time you make a let's play, DON'T PUNCH THE WOOD FOR THE FIRST 15 MINUTES!!
I just recently started one of my own, getting down to business and making a house straight away:
I appreciate the response... I'm definitely not saying that later in a series scanning and planning isn't good! I watch bdoubleo and thats what he does all the time (favorite youtuber) !!
Anyhow, thanks for the response, perhaps I'll have some more time put into my next episode!
Plus, some people actually like watching every minute of the series starting from the "Create World" button.
Although I don't watch LPs at all (I prefer playing the games myself ;)) I would prefer to see everything from step one, so long as it isn't horrendously drawn out. I might fare well as a LPer, just because I get stone stuff ASAP, punching trees is so boring. I'm not sure why anyone would want to watch it really.

Part of it is, when the first LPs came out, people didn't have a lot of ideas on how to play the game, or what they needed to do. What the "safe light level" was and so on, so pretty much anything was interesting. Maybe not as much now.

I agree with you, but if you've seen the Mindcrack panel at Minecon 2012, I would not suggest that LP is dead, and that the time is over... but rather if you're interesting and hopefully have decent content your viewership will grow! Obviously that takes time, and that time I'm willing to wait for... Hoping that I'll gradually gain subscribers, and play it by ear! If people don't like what I'm doing, I'll switch it up!
It's not really the content IMO. It's how the LPer entertains the viewer. You don't have to be good at the game to be entertaining. For example the yogscast they aren't very good at the game but they are entertaining. ( to most people ) it's not really about chopping wood ect its about how the yter keeps the user hooked until the entertaining parts come into play.
Well said. Its comments like this that give hope to us trying to get subs ahah.... thanks man.

But your forum rank is 'tree puncher'.
I hate when people go over their inventory like anyone cares. I'd say it's almost as bad as just punching a tree for an hour.
You have a little BdoubleO in you too. haha
Great video non the less
just because i don't post comments on this forum doesn't make me a video maker, man...
