I'm getting a error on the "EnumHelper.addToolMaterial" part of making tools, it's saying "EnumHelper cannot be resolved" and suggesting creating a constant, a class or some other stuff.
I'm getting errors too, it's the enum helper, it says it can't be resolved.
huh... for me it's complaining about the launch files from forge.... i've only tried updating forge for my mod, but i haven't tried it on the mod i'm making from this tutorial series... idk if that'll make a difference or not.....
There is two things else i would like to know... 1) containers such a chests and how to read the specific items in them 2) How to make it work with buildcraft and other piping mods
Edit: How would you change the type of block it is... so from a solid block to transparent, or a wool type block.
To make a transparent block, you put -
public int getRenderBlockPass()
{
return 1;
}
public boolean isOpaqueCube()
{
return false;
}
public boolean renderAsNormalBlock()
{
return false;
}
I do not know if you really need the "render as normal block" to make it transparent, but i've always added it to transparent blocks...
To make a block wool, or liquid (but still look solid, like what i have in my mod) you put the block material as wool, water, lava, etc.
cool tnx, also how would you do it so the ores only spawn between certain layers, instead of just 64 and below, i want it like below 64, but above 32
where ever i said in the ores video of where the spawning level code is (i think i went over that... i don't remember anymore), i think i had it at 64... but change that and it'll change the ore level. For between 64 and 32, i'd do about like 40 or so....
I have this crash, and I followed exactly. can you help me?

i suggest using spoilers when posting errors... otherwise everyone else will annoy you about it...
Thanks for the help on the other thread. Now I have an unrelated question. When making crafting recipes, I've been wanting to add things like sandstone slabs or possibly smooth sandstone. But I have no idea how to add them, seems different from simply adding a block or item (because they're versions, or TYPES of a different block I think)
the quotations on the 2nd parameter (where u name the tools for the config, right before the default id) only has one quotation. so it should be "TD spade ID", 601, etc., etc...
Hello, I've been following the text of your tutorials to remind myself how to set up the basic stuff (blocks and items and forge and such, it's been a while since I've used any of it ), and I've run into a problem.
It's the names. Something went wrong with the Language Registry (at least I think that's what it is), because I have four different items in my mod so far (not called anything, as I am just experimenting and learning at this point), and they all have the same name, even though the code is written to the contrary. Here is my languageRegisters function (pastebin):
There are no errors popping up anywhere, and the recipes and everything else works just fine. Also, I have noticed a pattern with the error -- whichever name is declared last in the languageRegisters() is what all of the other items are called. For example, in the pastebin link, you can see I have the tutorial item, and items A, B, and C, all named respectively. But, when I enter the game and mouse over them, the tooltip says "C" for all four items. The textures are fine, and they work fine in recipes, but they are all called "C". This is very confusing to me and I can't seem to find where I went wrong. If you need more of my code, just let me know. Also, the blocks are affected as well. And this only seems to happen to items and blocks from my mod, not vanilla stuff.
Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

Any help on creating recipes from blocks that have different versions? For example, calling different, specific types of wooden planks, or types of slabs, etc. I see you call on a type of dye and I think one of your numbers makes it a specific dye (cyan) but how / where in the code do i look up on how to call exactly what I need? Is there a quick reference sheet or something like that?

the language seems to be right... how about the .setUnlocalizedName("") where you set the id, hardness, material, class, etc. of the item/block? The past few times someone had this problem it was that.
i will, but it's not that hard...anyway, i'm workin on the armor so it should be up sometime this week, hopefully...

i suggest using spoilers when posting errors... otherwise everyone else will annoy you about it...
and what were you trying to do?
i think it might be a id or material issue....
E
I was coding for adding tools
ok. so i've heard is usually an id thing.... what's the ids of the tools? it might be too high
E
E
heres the code:
TDSpadeid = config.get("Tool IDs", "TD Spade ID, 601).getInt();
TDAxeid = config.get("Tool IDs", "TD Axe ID, 602).getInt();
TDSwordid = config.get("Tool IDs", "TD Sword ID, 603).getInt();
TDHoeid = config.get("Tool IDs", "TD Hoe ID, 604).getInt();
the quotations on the 2nd parameter (where u name the tools for the config, right before the default id) only has one quotation. so it should be "TD spade ID", 601, etc., etc...

It's the names. Something went wrong with the Language Registry (at least I think that's what it is), because I have four different items in my mod so far (not called anything, as I am just experimenting and learning at this point), and they all have the same name, even though the code is written to the contrary. Here is my languageRegisters function (pastebin):
languageRegisters();

Is there a quick reference sheet or something like that?
this is what i use - Here
the language seems to be right... how about the .setUnlocalizedName("") where you set the id, hardness, material, class, etc. of the item/block? The past few times someone had this problem it was that.
