You're all wrong! It's CLEARLY Metal Sonic, after he had a horrible accident involving a giant blender!
...In all seriousness, I'm really excited for this (these?) map(s)! I LOVED the original Monarch of Madness (it is, to be totally honest, one of my favorite maps of all time) and I can't wait to see how this (these) map(s) turn(s) out!
Also, and this is slightly off topic, but I have a quick observation I noticed about MoM:
I think that Bogmire acts more like Doopliss than Doopliss himself actually does. I mean, think about it: his castle is named "the Twilight Steeple" (a clear reference to the Creepy Steeple, where Doopliss resided), he calls you "slick", he forces you to do a ton of backtracking (not that I mind; to be honest, the "Second Quest" where you have to defeat Bogmire is actually my favorite part of the map), and he forces you to guess his name while holding back a letter essential to spelling his name.
Also, am I the only one to notice the irony in that you made Bogmire into a sophisticated, debonair character while in the original Luigi's Mansion, he had NO LINES OF DIALOUGE WHATSOEVER?
Well, I don't know if you tried it yet, but with Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle out, this series of maps is off to a pretty decent start! Haha.
But I like that observation of yours, because I very rarely heard anyone mention that whole ordeal. Indeed, although Bogmire's characterization in the map is much closer to what Doopliss was like in the Thousand Year Door, that's because I shaped him up like that. I would have named him Doopliss, but I chose the two names before I even began building the Nether segment. Therefore, you see Doopliss' character development through Bogmire, and a whole different personality in Doopliss himself. It's kinda messed up.
Yeah, it's also odd of me to have picked Bogmire of all the possible Mario characters out there to be the main villain, but I kinda really like his design and thought that he isn't brought up often enough. I guess it's almost like people overanalyzing and loving background characters from TV shows and books, hehe.

Okay. Thanks! I can see why that would happen, though: out of the two characters you chose, Doopliss was the only one who actually had a personality. Bogmire was just some weird creepy sludge monster that you fought as the secnod major boss (although, in my opinion, he's not NEARLY as freaky as the second boss in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon; I'd tell you more, but I'd hate to spoil it for you). I didn't actually think it was (to use your term) "messed up", though: I personally though that you did Bogmire justice by finally giving him a personality (let alone a really impressive one); and Doopliss' personality kind of reminded me of his personality after the ending of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, in which he becomes a good guy.
I can also see where you're coming from with the "overanalyzing and loving backround characters" bit: for a time, I had something of an obsession with Mimi from Super Paper Mario.
Anyway, I'm gonna try out Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle. I'll let you know what I think!
Oh, and one last thing:
Is your avatar an Umbreon or a Zorua? Just curious.

Yeah, I guess you could see the characters that way. It's cooler than whatever other explanation I could come up with. Mimi is pretty cool too, though she was definitely a creepy one. MIMIMIMIMIMIMI~
And my avatar is not a Pokémon. It's a dark version of Chibiterasu, the main character of Okamiden, a sequel to my personal favourite game, Okami. It was a commission I got from a nice artist I know, so you can guess how much I like the character's design! (The Christmas hat is because I got it around Christmas time, and never bothered commissioning a newer one from her, haha.)

..Anyway, thanks for clearing that whole avatar thing up! I feel kind of embarrassed for guessing wrong.
As for Mimi, well, I personally think that the spider form you fight her as in World 2 and 8 is just her strongest form, and not her true one. Speaking of spiders, you managed to make me feel bad for one in Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle. Kudos. I'll post all of my thoughts and opinions after I finish the map!

Finally..
I have fury. Literally. Yum.
Don't be embarrassed, because Okamiden is certainly not a very popular title. And if the spider form isn't her true form, I have to wonder if she even has one.
Making you feel bad for spiders was one of the first ideas I got before making the map. For some reason, I felt like cave spiders were hated so much that it'd be tough to make one that you end up kinda liking. I think I more or less succeeded with that.
Well, after a few hours of mystery, suspense, and getting my butt kicked by pumpkins, I finally finished Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle!
My thoughts and opinions:
First off, the start was pretty impressive. The spawn area was very Hypixel-esque, and the non-LP notes were hilarious. I like the idea of a VIP recognition system; in fact, I had a similar idea for a work in progress map that I'm making. The optional audio files helped to add immersion, but the fact that they're, well, optional was also helpful (for example, if you can't play them, then you don't have to worry about being left out of the story).
I noticed a TON of references to other games throughout the map: for instance, Vivian is a reference to the partner from PM:TTYD (Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door) of the same name, Crepuscule town is a reference to Twilight Town, Jim Dour may be a reference to Mayor Dour, Fawful and Majora were among the residents, the gravedigger's names are all anagrams of "Dampe", the gravedigger in Ocarina of Time (with the exception of Outran the Sixth Digger; to be honest, though, I don't blame him for running out, due to the Pumpkin Castle of Death), you have to enter Dampe's tomb to continue (like in Ocarina of Time), and there's a sidequest involving masks and a mask salesman (also like in Ocarina of time).
The first part of the map (exploring the town to find clues) was pretty cool, and I like how you encouraged exploration. As stated earlier, you managed to actually make me feel bad about a spider (although things worked out pretty well for him in the end). The second part of the map was pretty challenging; although there were a lot of mobs, they weren't too bad if you collected a lot of torches and ran ahead, lighting everything up before fighting the mobs that did spawn. This is probably the first map I've ever seen where your ability to respawn is explained, and the first one in which somebody questions how an average protagonist learned to fight so well on such short notice. The boss was pretty awesome, too, although slightly easy; then again, this IS going to be one of the first bosses in the full map, so that's to be expected. The ending was a happy one, and I notice that you gave the player the illusion of choice (with choosing to go home still ultimately leading to you becoming the mayor). Hmm... illusion... are you SURE you're not a Zorua?
One of my favorite parts of the map, however, was the discovery of Doopliss' backstory. You managed to tie it in to both PM:TTYD (in which he lives near Twilight Town, which was the inspiration for Crepuscule Town) and Monarch of Madness, and it certainly answered a lot of questions for me (for instance, what the heck is Doopliss doing in the Nether?).
In short, I loved this map, and it was a worthy follow-up to Monarch of Madness. I'll be waiting for your next maps with bated breath!
Final Score: 113 Gems (Yay! I beat BlackShadow_Minecraftian!)
Oh, and one last thing (again):
What song did you use for the boss battle? If you could, could you send me a link to it?

What song did you use for the boss battle? If you could, could you send me a link to it?
I'll start off with the easy part, which is the song. It's Paper Moon, from the animated series Soul Eater, which you can find in its original form , or its English version . I felt that the song was quite fitting, simply because the series was a big inspiration of several elements in the map - some of which you may recognize by watching the original version, hehe.
Now, to comment on the rest...
Yes, the start was based upon how Hypixel starts off his maps, simply because it feels better to throw all the out of character notes at you before the map actually begins. The audio files are certainly something I wanted to add from the get-go! Players may even see a little something more in the 1.6 version, haha.
The references are certainly numerous, and you didn't miss that many of them. There are a few references to other games, Youtube people and anime as well, but not all that many. Good eye for the Paper Mario and Zelda ones, though!
I agree with most of the rest, but the reason the boss is so easy is because it's my first real time making a boss battle with redstone. If I was good enough to wire a second phase into it, I would... but unfortunately, I'm not there yet. Maybe in a future update.
I'm glad that placing Doopliss in there wasn't too out of place, haha. I definitely felt like he was best explained there.
Thanks for the comments! It's very much appreciated.
Um, in the May 6th screenshot, that's Charlotte, isn't it?
Edit: On a just barely related note, the acronym TMM is also the acronym for Tokyo Mew Mew. I doubt this was on purpose, but is that also a reference?
Another Edit: I just reread the original post for Pumpkin Castle while I waited for it to download. I looked at the scoring section, and read "Soul Gems". So we collect Soul Gems? Like in Kazumi Magica? You sly (god) wolf!

Yep, it is. You're only the second one to point that one, too. That acronym is just a coincidence, because I thought of the name "The Mapmaker" before knowing that much anime, haha.
This map looks 1000x better than the one I'm working on :/
STOP BEING SO GOOD I CAN HARDLY COMPETE AS IT IS!
/jealousy
Sorry, but if it makes you feel any better, I often have trouble appreciating some of the better maps out there because I easily feel like my work is nothing compared to some of what I see around. Besides, this project will most likely change a little as I thought of a way to use all the work I've made so far and turn it into two maps instead of one huge compilation, which would end up being not only easier to manage but much less time-consuming.
This has such very good and very promising adventures awaiting just by looking from the screenshots and just from playing the mystery of the pumpkin castle , I already had tons of fun and even notice the little references in that was really nice. These maps are awesome and should get more attention.
Plus , I love the soul eater reference from the first map

Thanks for the optimism, hehe. Yeah, references are something I couldn't avoid putting in a map. Not everyone likes it, but it's a part of my style and I'm glad folks like you enjoy them!
Sooo.. Your good friends Simon and Lewis played Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle...
Guess which female detective-turned-heroine was given the Grizwald voice...
Yep, I saw that. Not that I mind the voice selection. I'm more bothered that they skipped over half of the map by going straight to the Castle! Haha. Yeah, the Grizwald treatment is always a thing.
You kind of have to expect it from those two also quick question do you have get inspiration for your builds from real life places or think of them all yourself
Yeah, they're well-known for skipping stuff, hehe. As for the building question, that depends. Half the builds you'll see in the map are mine, the other half are from Revolvee. I know he used a picture as a reference for Castle Estel in Monarch of Madness/Prince of Paranoia, but I'm not entirely sure what his inspiration came from for Atlantis (Crepuscule Town) and the Grimheim Citadel (Pumpkin Castle). I think the former was based on an image as well, but I'm not sure if it was a drawing or a picture.
As for myself, a lot of my builds are either based on creations I see from some specific builders (Revolvee, BDoubleO, Gazamo, etc.), creatures and places from games and anime (Soul Eater for most of Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle; various sources for other builds), or just what I think up (the starting area for the Mapmaker, the Internet segment from the same map and anything away from the castle in Monarch of Madness).

Well, at least they managed to play through most of Monarch of Madness legitimately. Antvenom and Cavemanfilms pretty much broke the map! Seriously, how did they get across the Bridge of the Strongest without blowing it up?!
Then again, it was pretty funny to see them completely destroy the Twilight Steeple...
Well, at least Simon and Lewis got the message you left for them!
Well, I don't know if you tried it yet, but with Mystery of the Pumpkin Castle out, this series of maps is off to a pretty decent start! Haha.

Fury is good for you, but only in moderation.
Looking great though...

Welp, I'm attempting to make all the greatest maps and compile them. If it doesn't end up working out, at least I'll have some great maps out.
