@Sylf_ I just played the map. I played it on normal difficulty with 0 deaths. It was short, but I still enjoyed it. I checked my history to see how long it took and I downloaded the map at 7:15 and was done by 8. For the jam I think it was a good size though, and it was a fun little map to play.
I really enjoyed the block choices and the buildings in the map. Every area felt unique and I thought each area had a lot of block variety without looking too crazy busy. The buildings looked very well done and had a lot of detail to them. There were enough custom items that I still looked in chests for loot, but nothing spectacular. Custom mobs were meh, but I don't think the map suffered much without a ton of custom mobs.
On to some things I didn't like. Some of the towers in the last area weren't pasted right and hover above the ground. The map was pretty easy, and the only area that was hard was the first because there were tons of natural spawns. Having some honey pots to divert some of the natural spawns and adding in some more interesting and challenging custom mobs could've made the area a lot better. The second area was pretty easy and was really short. I enjoyed the gameplay for this area, though, and I was actually disappointed it was over so quick. The final area was just too easy to run through. The wall at the end was the only obstacle, but even that was easy to just climb up and down because of all the fire protection gear I had at that point. The Atlas would've looked tons better if the room it was in was a sphere instead of a box.
Overall it was a fun map, and although some other people were saying maps didn't do the theme well, reading the books I thought this map did a good job of following the theme. It just felt like the journy should've lasted longer.
There's your feedback! So now that I've scratched your back...
I've decided to fix the OP skellies in my map to make it more playable. The only change I made was changing the number of skeletons spawned from 4 at a time down to 1, and shortened the interval between spawns. I would have liked to add more, but I feel anything else would go against the idea of the jam. If you tried it out and got stuck, I'd definitely recommend giving it another go!
Ah I guess it's still pretty unforgiving. What difficulty were you on?
Easy. I think it might have been a bit me though: I'm mostly asleep, and struggled a LOT with my map, which I beat pretty easily upon testing it. So it's mostly me.
I had numbered the Jam version as v0.1 as it more or less was of the quality of what an Alpha version of a map for me would be, first pass aesthetics and untested/unbalanced gameplay. So as such, this one is v1.0 because it's an official release into my map series and its in a place I'm much happier with.
So I've kinda been hesitating to put a poll up for the final voting, mostly because of the insane amount of maps that were created. We almost doubled the number of entries from last Jam, and I'm guessing most of you probably haven't played many more than ten of them. If you have, congrats and I admire your dedication.
It's not just a matter of the number of entries being a pain to input into whatever polling medium I choose, it's more about wanting to fully represent each entry, as opposed to having a list and the maps by the more big-name mapmakers get voted up more than others, because those are the ones most people played.
I really am not sure what to do about this. Do you guys think it's even worth doing a poll for the entries, or should we just leave it and keep the whole event under the "for fun" category?

Leave the poll up for a long time. That being said, maybe if we have people only elect their maps for certain categories, things might be a bit easier? So instead of having best map, there is maybe 'best gameplay' 'best asthetics' and as a mapmaker, I can only choose one category? That way, people might only have to play, say, half of the maps.

I like this. As a non-mapmaker-for-this-jam, I think you should have all the mapmakers nominate their maps for different categories, and they can only nominate their map for up to X categories, where X is maybe 1/2 to 1/4 of the categories? Perhaps everyone should automatically be nominated for "best map", though, unless they specifically opt out.

I think at we should do whats already been suggested as far as not having every map in every category, but I also think we should try to get people to not vote for a category if they haven't at least flown through each map in that category in creative. That way people can vote without playing every map, but ideally the votes would be more accurate since everyone who votes for a category knows all the maps.
Moldybread, here's my run of your map. I was REALLY tired while playing it, as verified by my trillions of deaths while running through my map, even though I only died three times while testing it. So it might not be your fault. Anyway, here ya go:

I didn't bring up "best map" because that seems like something that everyone would apply for, so that problem would pop up again.
Thanks for running through the map! You did pretty much everything I didn't intend the player to do, but the video was very entertaining. The map was meant to be played at a slower pace, and I don't think you saw the sign that said you have to get most of your stuff from mob drops. I'm looking forward to seeing some videos of the other maps.

yeah...definitely sleep. I'm typically pretty good at reading things. (though I still get some impatience)
So I know this is a pretty quick turnaround considering the last Jam was only about two weeks ago, but considering Spring Break is happening for a lot of schools on the week of April 13-19th, I figured another Jam might be nice. I'm currently talking with Fangride about putting a little spin on the theme of this Jam (more on that later, ) but for now I just need to know, will enough of you be around that weekend to participate?

I can make time of course
And yeah, if we finalize this, I'll make sure we have some proper details!

I'm not sure, but currently I don't see why I won't have time. Also what do you mean about a spin on the theme of the jam?
EDIT: I just saw that this is my 250th post. Because of that...... I can't think of anything. I'll list all of your names when I get to 500, because I feel that just 250 isn't special enough. So for now.... keep being better at aesthetics than me, and continue being awesome.

Shouldn't updated version be 1.1 instead?
