Hey there, all. I stream CTMs as well as other indie games, Minecraft servers and probably that's it. I'm your supreme overlord too so I command you to CHECK ME OUT: www.twitch.tv/techniclepanther
How do you choose who works on this? Do you handpick them?
Basically, Hybbles and I spent some time talking before TR, and we asked a few people, each putting forth some thoughts. We slowly fill slots based on who is free and who isn't, and then lock in a potential final lineup. We give people some time to build zones, and based on who sticks around, we fill up more slots until we get a final lineup! There's a good chunk of people I'd have loved to have in Titan's Revolt overall, but in the end, this is what we have now, and there's always Map 3 to make use of other people!
There've been a chunk of people in and out of TR (I actually was not originally going to make a wool), but plans changed.

Trivia: I was originally part of Map 3. Then, enough people dropped out of both 2 and 3 that the two groups were merged. I think that for the original group 2, Hybbles/Fang picked some smaller mapmakers - probably necessitated by the fact that half the people who worked on Pantheon have pretty much left the community. For group 3 it was (mostly) people who were fringe members of the community and had expressed interest in mapping at one point or another. And look where we are now!
Oh, and re: the goal of "before the end of August":
"If you all can somehow manage to finish and release this map before Summer's End (whee random un-needed annoying Runescape quest reference for no particular reason), I'll eat one of my bowling trophies. Without any milk. While walking through the Salty Spitoon. On a floor made of partially melted and really slippery ice cubes."

So, that's one major reason why we're aiming for that point.
LET THE HYPEAGE BEGIN!

Mapmaker and LPer of Complete The Monument (CTM) maps.
Creator/owner of the CTM Community Mapping Server - ask about it on the CTM Community thread!
Current projects:
Thanatos - a subterranean semi-open-world urban CTM
Titan's Revolt - a collaborative project run by ProjectCTM; sequel to Pantheon
Pinnacle - a "sketch" mini-CTM intended for newer players (nearing completion!)
Now, can all of you stop asking me why progress on The Painter has slowed recently? pls Now you know. (Not talking to anyone in particular, but it's come up several times recently in different places...)
No, I don't think sprinting will add anything to the map.
I agree that food is the way to go, unless you're ready to give the player plenty of golden apples or gold.

Let me remind you that this is all in a joking manner of course
You'll have to do something like this. Here's an example.
Once you create it, it should look something like this:
Thanks man!

Hopefully the development has been less tedious than Pantheon.
To celebrate, I have brought back some of the greatest maps of all time featured on this thread:
(These are a bunch of old photos I found from my past activity...enjoy. )
Yep.

HURRY UP. GIVE ME MAP NOW.
My mini-CTM map! It's a fun map, so play it!
And so the dormant beings of the world, rise to life once more.
And one of these dormant beings has still not redone the buildings for his area that he totes promised me he'd have done soon.
I will personally ensure this happens if it's released in August itself. Potentially I could just hide the Bonde Family Farm somewhere though...
Sorry I will get to it soon.
Can we stop talking in italics?
Maybe next time?
dammit
That's Q3 2014. You're asking for trouble.
(You need to update the ProjectCTM OP, btw. Probably should've posted the hype with the ProjectCTM account too now that I think about it.)
