i am thinking of creatinga new type of CTM but i have no clue how to develop it
Basically it is the hunger games + CTM maps
i think the players should start around the outside of the map and slowy move towards the center for a fight over the black wool
if someone wishes to help me develop this i would enjoy so
I'd be willing to work on something like this, but explain your idea a little more clearly: is the middle a kind of capture point, only there's wool there, do the players have to return from the middle, what about the other 15 wool?
By that logic it would be kill squid = black wool.
Then again, squid are really good at not spawning...unless they're glitchy spaz-flying squid.
Anyway, which of these looks the best? (Spoilers!)
Myself I'm currently debating between 1 and 4.
1. I can hardly read the white on white in #4, 1's a bit better, but 3's my favorite. #2 just feels like generic map picture, so I wouldn't go there either.
So I finally came back from the land of not-wanting-to-have-anything-to-do-with-Pantheon-ness. Update: I found 11. I was reading all the comments and had a really good idea of how to fiendishly hide an item, and then I discovered it had already been used. Derp :/
Bunch of questions:
1) Is that "puzzle" (those who found 11 know what I mean) broken? I hit it but nothing happened. I had to break it to get the redstone to work. Is this intended? I'm worried I might have broken some command block output or something.
2) I still can't find mall, but I did find a 3 by something array of sponges above some passageway in Rumblehiss Ruins (in front of that pumpkin head structure thing). Does or the room this have anything to do with mall? It looks way different from all the other passageways, and I'm growing even more suspicious because of the disc hints. I'm pretty sure it's in the ruins somewhere, because there isn't much space else to hide a birdcage in the mines or nest.
EDIT: Fixed a missing apostrophe, because I'm OCD like that.

Definitely the first. Putting obvious brush strokes isn't worse, and can be cool (I do it myself someimtes), at least if you do it intentionally. I wouldn't use it as a banner though, people will think you went pretty lazy on your aesthetics in that occasion.
Do you prefer using records for the monument, or do you like wool better?
And which should I use for my next map?
Wool for sure. Though it might be easier to cheat using wool, in the end it's the players fault because they ruin the fun for themselves and nobody else.
So, what do you guys think of these areas? I've posted in-dev pics of them before, but they're aesthetically finished now.
-snip-
Looks good. I especially like the second one, but I suggest using a worldedit smooth brush on the first one. It looks so messy imho... Lighting is really nice, like it
Btw, got back into mapping myself. Just spend a few hours on a starting area, was so unhappy with my old map that i decided to restart...
@Sylf: I like larger areas. They're fun and interesting to explore.
I love the looks of those areas, and especially that banner for Frost...something? Its hard to read, but it seems really cool.
Anywho, I'm back to playing for the masses, because yay. Ragecraft 2...perhaps try and make some headway in 1.6.2 Waking Up, if I can. I'll try my best.

My mini-CTM map! It's a fun map, so play it!

Wool. Records loose that visual aspect that's so nice about the monument, even though overall, you loose 16 aesthetic options.

I'm using dyes for my map.... :3
Kill skeleton = white wool? Sounds about right.
