Play maps by Xekaj they're really easy. Other easy maps include: Pantheon, Ragecraft and Monstrosity
In all seriousness play spellbound caves or infernal sky II and don't play sunburn isles. It's massively unbalanced.
(Ragecraft isn't as hard as the title suggests)
I don't get this. Monstrosity is insanely difficult. Completed both kaizo caverns and inferno mines with a deathcount around 20 on normal difficulty. Died about 15 times on the starting area of monstrosity. Then ragequitted since everything fell in those lavapits and i was fighting firezombels with a fist...
Btw. Pre-alpha testing, should i ask people to while making my first map? And when/how? Or can i do without it?
But the message wasn't entirely sarcasm. It was sarcastic for Ragecraft and Pantheon, yes, but I assume not for Monstrosity. I don't know why people have issues with it I got through the starting area with 1 death (which was me just randomly walking into a lava pit) and I'm not even good at this game xD
Just cover the lava pits and you'll be good, basically. By the way, pre-alpha testing is helpful. Get a couple friends or forum-goers and send them copies every couple areas. Doesn't really matter how often, but yeah, pre-alpha testing can help heavily because you'll have a more stable product for alpha/beta testing and therefor your testers will be able to focus on other stuff.
Sounds cool, if your screenies look good I'd definitely give it a try. Watch out with boss mobs though, boxing yourself in and killing feets for 10 minutes is NOT fun.
My question is, why would you list Monstrosity on a list containing Ragecraft and Pantheon? It is not even in the BALLPARK of those maps. It's not even that bad, probably the easiest of the recent big-name CTM maps. Also, Ragecraft is insanely difficult unless you're good at tackling large areas, in which case it's alright.
The problem with Ragecraft is that it's Linear, and because of that, there's not a lot of freedom. This means that it really isn't going to be a fun map to play for many people. Also, about the tackling large areas... didn't you have to be good at that to beta test Pantheon?
Looks like our good buddy awesome found his way onto an Amlup video.
I've finally gotten to the point where he recognizes me enough to call me Tasch instead of Taeajbvahjhvglajfde.
Also about Monstrosity: I remember back when it was on Baked_Applez's CTM server, and I actually enjoyed it, and didn't find it that hard. (This despite the anti-griefing plugin Applez had that made it impossible to use lava buckets... which made the light blue wool SO much harder. Still, it wasn't impossible, and was quite fun. Taking it on was like the top of Castle Acedia [I think] in Legendary.)

I don't feel like that's the full issue with it, tbh. I haven't played enough of it to fully decode the issue with it, unfortunally. And I didn't actually beta test Pantheon, just helped out with Dormant Mines a lil. I still brag about it because that's really the only thing I can brag about minecraft wise xD
Also, Pantheon didn't really have 'massive areas'. At least, not from what I played on it (First two intersections). It had large areas, but they never really felt massive. Except for Dormant Mines. that place.

There's definitely something about the map that's weird other than the linearity, I must agree.
Well, you're still listed as a beta on the thread XD
The areas were pretty big for the first two intersections.

Yeah, I didn't make it to I4. I got stuck at Rumblehiss Nest iirc and, since I still sorta sucked at the game (and I still do) I ragequit. Maybe one day I'll get past it xD
Long story short - I'm pretty bored atm. So, I was wondering if anybody out there wanted to do RFW. I could host the server, but I can't do more than 4 if I'm the host, and it'd have to be Hamachi. So, if you want non-Hamachi and want to do race for wool, tell me you can host and want to play via pm. If you just want to play w/ Hamachi, then pm me also. See you around.

Was just gonna share with y'all that my first mini-map Blackwater Abyss is going to be released sometime this week. Project had been paused until a fine gentlemen that goes by the name Karrott reminded me of it. I didn't wanna let the poor fella down so I've been doin' some work, son!
I realize this wouldn't be a very effective and attractive announcement without atleast one screenshot...
Beware of spoilers, view at your own risk! >=D
It's kind of a crappy teaser, but ey, there you go.
I really like that second picture! Can't wait to give this a go!
Some experimental fleecy boxes. Still tinkering around with them, I'd like them to be a little more compact
Me fiddling around with MCEdit's Forester filter. Should be handy in later maps :3
Fire? Ghasts? Blazes? Netherack? TNT? Those are pathetic screenshots without these things and if your map doesn't have those things it will be pathetic... Jk (please don't hurt me fang)
In all seriousness (I love saying that) that tree of water is awesome and cool fleecy boxes even though I prefer that standard brick glass glowstone slab chest thing.

I think you're idea is excellent. I don't really have much else to say about it

Is sprinting like a madman considered using your wits?
I know I've said this before (pre-alpha talk... heh heh.) but I am REALLY looking forward to TU.
Looking forward to yours too!
Listen to him, Ren (can I call you that?)
Skip the second dungeon of Sunburn, it's ridiculously imbalanced now. Come back after the green wool or so.
U 2 badass
He's been killed by Amlup either on stream or on camera so many times... XDDDDDDDDDDDD

Sky maps yes, but most cave maps I play with them off
