About:
This is a Adventure map, created to be played with 1-4 players. There are two ways to play. Hard core mode, which means not using any of the secret chests found behind the clay blocks, and normal mode, which means using those blocks. If anyone successfully completes hardcore mode (very hard!) please record it so that you can prove it, and your name will be here on this thread, with your video! This map includes tons of mob fighting, some easy parkour, and a shooting puzzle.
An asylum, they call it, where the weak minded and frail are tossed into to rot for the rest of their miserable lives. Lost within their complex minds, crumbled from the pressure caused by the overwhelming demands of current social and economic factors, these poor people are tossed into this place, miles from civilisation, forced to suffer under the command of the tyrant cellmaster, who plays with their minds as if they were toys.
This was not a prison. It never was. It was a madhouse. Every week, a prisoner would be chosen to take a test in the test chamber. The chosen one would go through the various tests set for him, and try to survive. Rumour has it that at the end of the tests, there would be a choice room, where 4 buttons would be in there. one of them, when clicked would be the way out. The rest? set off an array of TNT hidden underneath. But everyone knew it was a lie. They all led to TNT.
However, the constant torture would eventually lead to honed minds. Sharp eyes, critical mindset, and lateral thinking. Especially Fred. The so called psychopath, tied up in a straight jacket and tossed into a room with walls of sponge. Little did they know, they were wrong about Fred. He could think. He had a plan. Everyday, the "prisoners" would have to mine. Mine the large pile of rubble and rock together. They called it the "mining hours". It was here where the prisoners could talk. Fred had some loyal cronies, who did what he wanted. When the guards werent looking, fred's cronies would slowly train the pigeons that were there to come and send small objects, targeted at the future result of the pigeons being able to steal and bring the master keys from cell to cell, allowing each prisoner to unlock the cell door, before taking the keys again and bringing it along to the next cell. Following that, one of the cronies who was "lucky enough" to be the chosen one, managed to reconfigure the buttons to open a hidden door which would get him and everyone else out. On The day of the "uprising", the plan was executed, and prisoners broke out and subdued the cops.
It was a big mistake for you though. You had overslept and missed the uprising. You had a big meal of slop the night before and woke up to find the key at the edge of your cell, with the whole asylum empty. Or rather, empty of humans, but filled with mobs. Green penises, zombies, skeletons, endermen, spiders, you name it. It was too much for a man to handle.
No no. We are not done. We are all moving at a very slow pace is all. Stream and I are not reviewing at this time, but we may get back into it soon. Fangride is continuing to review, and soon enough I will release a review!
kmilley! This thread hasn't changed in months. The one you are currently playing is mine, and has been that way for maybe 3+ months!
And to add to this, after you get around to his could you switch out Parkour Master Challenge with my other map, The Terrarian Invasion? I deleted PMC so the link wouldn't give you anything anyways... it wasn't a very good map.

Yes, you are quite right. I haven't done anything with this thread in quite a while. It has been a mixture of school, and unmotivation. Stream has also been off for a while. I would like to get back into this soon, probably this weekend. School ends so I will have a ton more time to get back to everyone and begin reviewing again. I was thinking about closing this thread a bit ago, but I have left it open because I have felt like I will still get back into it, and hopefully the other reviewers will too. I understand that this is a slightly frustrating, having your map so close to the front and all, but there are many others like you out there, unfortunately. Think of the Review Thread as on hold at the moment, but going to restart soon, possibly at a slow pace, but restarting nonetheless. I hope this helps clear things up you, and anyone else who is wondering what is taking us so damn long.
I apologize for not being more transparent with you guys, I know how hard it is to make a map, and it can be awful when you don't get any solid feedback on it. Please also try to understand that each and every one of us have a billion other things going on in our lives, from school, to sports, to making maps and running servers.

Map maker? (if yes, provide a link to map(s)): Yes. the map isn't finished and I believe I should finish it before I give you a link.
Writing experience: I have written a book for kids and am in the middle of writing a novel called "The Day I was Mayor" which is a historical fiction novel.
Review experience: When I am finished playing the map I usually look through the builds on the map, the way they express the main story line with the characters and they way the story connects with the builds themselves. I am also a map reviewer for another map reviewing team.
Have you read the entire "Join The Team" section of this thread?: Yes. I find it interesting in a good way.
Additional info: I am a big critic when it comes to maps and how they are made. I have played Levis Nightmare and am a huge fan. It was very well made. Between the builds and story, all the details tie together and make it a great map!

Genre: adventure map (lower link) I was wondering if you'd review the creation map (first link)
Requirements(mods, texture packs, ect.): no requirements, no mods are permitted and texture packs can be used as preferred
Estimated Completion Time: Wouldn't expect more than 45 minutes for someone who can handle mob fighting, maybe longer if you have a hard time with it
Additional Info(optional): I spend most of my time on the actual creation, making it secure against mobs and other players, I added the adventure map awhile ago, it got outdated and when I played it again, I kind of liked the effect the bugs had on game play. I'd love a video of it for my post and feedback on the actual Fortress and the map in general as I am going to make a new one and want to know what to improve on.

The Wizard is one of the most awkwardly balanced maps I've played in a really long time. While the end of the map shined as one of the more fun experiences I've had with a reviewed map, the beginning and middle portions were some of the worst I've played. The Wizard's end made up for some of the start, and as such, it really is what I consider of the real middle-rated maps. It almost perfectly balances as a middle map, and I'd love to see the start improved heavily to make this map much better then it is now. I'm going to run with a "Good" and "Bad" section for this review, and highlight what made them so good/so bad here, as I feel this is the best route to take.
The Bad: The first 3/4th of the map. The naturally generated village, the poorly designed opening cave, and the really poor pathfinding almost made me give the map up due to extreme confusion and annoyance with the way the map was made. The story felt a bit contrived at the start, and the fact we *knew* we'd be fighting the Ender Dragon was a bit anticlimactic. I felt it needed more leadup. The initial challenges, as well, were very poor, and just consisted of really simple parkour, some general survival, and lots... and lots... and lots... of walking. It's cool and all, but walking and boating gets horribly boring really quickly.
Another problem was characters. They were spoken of constantly, but I had no idea who was who, and where they were. Saying "Farmer John from Grary" is nice (not real character, just example), but when I have no clue who Farmer John is, nor where Grary would be, it doesn't help me at all. Pathfinding does really need a change, and an Out-of-game map would be really nice. Another problem I had was the way the later puzzles needed to be solved. It involved way too much general wandering, hoping you stumble across the answer. Same deal with the Pyramid, but I enjoyed that a lot. For the Wizard's House, all I did was just wander around the house and surrounding areas until I found a way to progress, which was rather frustrating, considering how natural most of your landscape looks.
The Good: Everything from the Desert town up. The story felt like it picked up from there, pathfinding did become more clear, things looked more built than found, finally, and the Pyramid was a highlight of the map. The whole Wizard thing was never really fully explained for me, but I won't whine about it. I had fun at the end, and that half really picked up. I liked how you finally started to give me some clearer instructions, such as "Follow the light made with no torches". That gave me clear directions, rather then "Yeah, that guy in this town you've never heard of" The game also upped the ante, becoming harder, but managing to stay clearer than it was before.
Finally, the story managed to weave itself closed nicely at the end, and the map definently displayed a strong element of storytelling. That was really nice to see in a map. The characters were a bit underdeveloped, but that's understandable, with limited text. I would love to see characters expanded upon in the future, but they don't really have to, as it makes sense for you to just pass on that. All in all, a solid middle map. The beginning is pretty poor, but if you continue through, you'll find a real gem waiting to be uncovered.
Bugs/Tips -The pathfinding for the entire 2/3rds of the map, to the Desert town. PLEASE make it easier to work out where we're going
-Make your buildings look less 'natural'. I like to see hard work put into a map, and when you use a natural cave and natural NPC villages, it feels lazy!
-The Wizard's home had a few bugs, mostly with the way to move on through each room.

New Review from Fangride
Bugs/Tips
-The pathfinding for the entire 2/3rds of the map, to the Desert town. PLEASE make it easier to work out where we're going
-Make your buildings look less 'natural'. I like to see hard work put into a map, and when you use a natural cave and natural NPC villages, it feels lazy!
-The Wizard's home had a few bugs, mostly with the way to move on through each room.
-The Pyramid's entrence didn't work very well.
