a little heads up, i'm going to scrap my current playthrough and start fresh using the latest version of your map. You can remove my videos, i'll post newer ones in the future!

OK no problem. I was quite enjoying the way you did them though
I love the last one with the spiders and zombies. Pretty funny (though I'm sure it was frustrating when it happened).
Let me know when you have new ones and I'll be happy (and grateful) to add them! (oh and I need to sub to your channel... why haven't I done that already?!?)
Humble Beginnings?! My foot! That looks pretty awesome for a base llorelei. Nice job!
I love the animal pens. What is that little field next to the portal?
Awww, thanks! I'm having a ton of fun playing the map. The field is a mycelium patch- It was tricky moving the mycelium but its definitely easier to grow giant mushrooms now.
(Cropped due to frustrated husband foul language) I've dedicated this memorial to my brave husband who sacrificed himself and all his loot to light up this room and was exploded by creepers....4 times... And once burnt to a crisp fighting a skellie. BTW, wat there a chest behind this? It exploded and we weren't sure if we ruined the loot.
Hi RayN1009! Yeah unfortunately there was a chest back there with some goodies
Sorry it got blown up (stupid creepers!). It's a shame there is no "stone/iron/diamond chest" or somesuch that mapmakers could use to protect against explosions. :/
The underground areas can become quite scary because they fill up so easily (ESPECIALLY at night) so yeah armor and moving slowly and carefully are almost essential. However with 2 players it might be a bit easier (one of you can flank). I would suggest Stone Swords at least. They typically dispatch most of the maps monsters it 3 or so hits. Just watch those sneaky creepers!
Looking amazing! Man you guys have expanded so much! I see Project Cactus Wall is in full effect now Like the farming area and the covered pool. Really great stuff. It never stops amazing me what people can do in survival mode when they put their minds too it. And it's so much more difficult & rewarding because you have to collect all the necessary building materials. Now that you know what the pig spawner is things should be a bit easier to maintain since you won't have to constantly worry about food collection as much.
Oh and this area here is like a dead zone. I know you mentioned the new version a couple days ago fixed some bugs, I'm not sure if it was this one. This area wont let me place any blocks at all.
Thank you for reporting that! You even included a screenshot with coordinates. Nice. Few people bother to do that. Unfortunately I tried and tried to duplicate the problem with the new version of that map in and around that area and I couldn't So either I inadvertently fixed it (LOL) or it was an error that cropped up on your playthrough... although I have no idea how/why. Hmmm if you do ever play the map again with a newer version please let me know if it happens again.
We are having tons of fun. I'm trying to get us(him) back into complete iron armor before we tackle the water temple, can't wait though.
So in a few days I'll be uploading things on my own, I'll probably start the map over alone, and it'll be a month or two before I'm able to play with the husband again. He's getting deployed soon, but to a nice place, they will have good internet most of the time, we just need to save up for a laptop for him then I'll probably have to mail it to him.
Anyways. We've been pretty busy getting ready, and this has just been awesome fun for us to blow off steam and spend time together. Great job, I'm hopeful we'll even make it to the nether before he has to go. ^.^
Well thank your husband for his service from me. It's good that he is going somewhere safe, but service is service no matter where it is and it means time apart from his loved ones.
I'm really glad that you guys have enjoyed the map and time playing together. I think a lot of times videogames are just perceived as being "a complete waste of time" so it's really great to hear of times like these when they help families (or couples!) have fun and spend time together. I know my wife and I have enjoyed playing games and my kids really get a kick when we pull out the PS3, Wii or even the old Dreamcast!?!
Awww, thanks! I'm having a ton of fun playing the map. The field is a mycelium patch- It was tricky moving the mycelium but its definitely easier to grow giant mushrooms now.
Oh right - The mycellium! I completely forgot. I just assumed it was underground. Makes sense though if you intend to grow the giant mushrooms.
I also wanted to mention the "tree stands". That is a neat idea I had never thought of before! I love watching other people make stuff because I always learn something new
1st i have to say, awesome map! Very creative concept! Really liking it! As I am running a Youtube channel that has actually grown pretty big the last couple of months (http://www.youtube.c...er/ExtraPlaysMC), and as I really like your map, I am going to record some gameplay of this map!
*EDIT* Just recorded the 1st episode! Awesome so far! Uploading it tonight ;-)
*EDIT #2* Video is up, hope you enjoy it! Managed to survive the 1st night at least Stay tuned for more!
Been awhile since I've last played a survival map, so I'm going to give this a try. I'll leave some feedback later.
Edit: This map is worth playing IMO. I definitely enjoyed what little of it I've played so far, so I will continue playing it. I did, however, get very frustrated by the massive amount of mobs beating me up though lol. :'(

Great! Thank you so much for doing a playthrough on it! I love watching others play (and seeing how they think ). I linked the video at the top and also subbed your channel. Best of luck!

Thank you for the compliments! I hope you have a good time with map and I value any feedback on it.
The map can be difficult (ESPECIALLY at night). Just be sure you have a food supply and a safe place to retreat to (I'll be honest early on setting up 2 or 3 "emergency shelters" scattered about is not the worst idea. If you get killed at night it can be a real pain getting somewhere safe and the sand will trip you up if you try to dig a foxhole to dive into) and whatever you do don't run out of trees!

Today I started my solo map. I' already missing my sapling good luck charm, though I haven't quite run out of saplings yet.
Yeah solo play! Lots of challenges conquered already I see. Playing through the first time must have helped a bit hehe
What do you think of the updated challenges in this version? (pretty sure you guys were using the original version the first time through). Is it a good assortment of things to try and do?

Yeah the first play through has really helped, after struggling for days and day the first time I know what to do first and where to get some hidden items.
I like the journal, I've been writing in it a bit. And the clock is really handy, a clock was one of the first things I crafted when I reaches the resources in the last playthrough.
Spawning adult chickens is super helpful, having to wait for one or 2 chickens to grow before laying eggs to get more chickens seemed like it took forever.

I thought the journal would be good to set the mood and also for players to jot notes down (like not having to run across the desert to the challenge block area every 10 minutes LOL)
The clock was something I wished I had myself when playing. It seemd like a useful tool to give out, but not crazy overpowered.
With the eggs I watched a playthrough by Strife and he went though 16 chicken eggs without even one hatching so I thought I better switch it to 2 guaranteed chickens.
In retrospect I think the Pig Spawner is probably too OP. It's an infinite FAST source of food. I might try to use NBT editor or something to adjust it's sawn rate (if that's even possible) or simply replace it with pig spawn eggs.
Wait you updated the map right after I made 2 episodes god dang it! Oh well time to restart I guess!
So sorry! I tinkered with the map a bit after watching people play videos of it (you learn so much more by watching others play). I'm trying to refrain messing with it anymore. Please be sure to post your video links on the thread so everyone can see them. Thanks for taking the time to play and record it
[UPDATED] Man! This map is great! I'm addicted!
Let me show some pictures!
New general map, a bit bigger, just a bit.. kkk
More pics of outside and inside home..
A bigger Giant Mushroom farm and a fresh Semi-automatic Nether Wart farm!
[EDIT] How my actual mine is now!
My base in Nether is just cobblestone on cobblestone, I think I'm not going to improve nothing there, I guess I'm not needing, just to get stuff and come back.. I'm exhausted of mining, it's a LOT of stone and just a few worth blocks like iron, redstone, gold and even fewer diamonds.. :/
I couldn't do it the first few times, but I am now aware of this and advise everyone: Get a pickaxe with fortune for mining the blocks that drop subitems such redstone, coal, diamond and lapis lazuli.

Later I update with my actual mine expanded! It's laaaarge!
DUDE! Nice job! Man you are a BUILDER. That must have taken quite a while to create all of that I like how you did the corrals for the animals. And that's a LOT... of cocoa beans
Well done. I'm scared to see your mine area. Looks like you did some massive strip mining down there
