Hi there - I'd really like to use this map in a multiplayer setting, only you don't spawn in the correct location for the map to work. Instead of the island selection chamber, you spawn on top of some platform made up of a grid of tripwires.I think you hinted at this in an earlier post; is there anything I can do about it?
That is the multiplayer spawn point. Players spawn anywhere on that grid of tripwires and will be teleported to the island room where it will teleport you to the correct island. If you would like to create a spawn room for your map, just change the command block teleport coordinates to a new location. May I ask what the problem was? Are you not playing on the latest client? If not it will not teleport you and you need to play on the 2.4 release instead. If there was still a problem, try jumping up and down on the tripwires to make sure the command blocks are triggered.

Oh, I see - no, it wasn't teleporting me. I am using the 1.4.6 client, and our server version is the same. Maybe it was because I was an op? I don't know. I'll try the jumping up and down trick, and let you know how it goes. Thanks!
Edit - I'll also double check to make sure I got the right version of the map.
Double Edit - Got it! My server properties file didn't have the enable command blocks line in it. Probably because I copy/pasted it from another server we have instead of letting a new one be generated.
Anyway, works like a charm. Looking forward to this - great map!

Good I'm glad it's working now, I was going to suggest checking your server properties. If you have any more issue, I would be more than happy to help you resolve them. It would also help me debug the map, letting me know what I need to fix.
I've found a issue with the teleport beacon. It will teleport you away to your spawn point before your gamemode is changed. So the closest player who has their gamemode changed may not nessearily be the one who left the quest room. I'll work on resolving this. For now, if you have this issue on a server, just change your gamemode by typing /gamemode 0 into the command prompt.

I was just going to ask you about that, lol. Everytime someone used a beacon, we'd get dumped into peaceful mode.

Thanks for the heads up, look forward to the fix.
Peaceful mode should be intentional. That way you don't get a creeper spawning and blowing up the floor. But it should change it when you leave. I'll look into it for you though.
I'm working on fixing some of the command blocks and adding some new features such as the ability to change your spawnpoint. I'm also going to be adding in a new island.
The new island looks great. I'm working on integrating it into the map now. Look forward to it in future updates! However, there are some major lag issues and i can't seem to figure out the source of them.
The main problem I find is getting to other islands properly since it takes a lot of effort to get to another island if you don't have the Quest room. Maybe make more quest rooms?
Or maybe you can make unactivated nether portals on each island, so that lessens the hassle for players.

I've thought a lot about this concept. The problem i keep coming up with is that there needs to be some incentive to stay on your starting island for the first few stages of survival. But i also have to balance that with the hassle of building a bridge.
I don't want to have pre-built bridges because that would ruin the natural theme of the map and it would make it too easy. I've tried messing around with custom spawners that spawn falling sand with custom block ids but they still need a block to spawn on. I tried to figure out sethbling's statue filter, but i couldn't get it to work.
I don't want to have a teleport beacon on every island. I chose those three islands because they were the most unpopular. I wanted incentive to visit those islands.
What i've decided to do is allow you to purchase a new spawnpoint on another island. This feature was actually in the map for a long time, i just never made it public. It will be in the next release of the map.
Neat lookin, good job.I will be sure to play it respect from a fellow map-makerREALLY COOL MAN.I cheated and went into the nether first, died, but it was awesome :)Respect for you my brotherxD im talking to myself

Really glad you enjoyed it. Should i include a creative option for the island room? Eventually i would like to have commands turned off, so this would make it easier for people who just want to look at the terrain.
Why does playing this may on a tekkit server break all the command blocks? I didn't realize this was a problem until recently. Could someone explain to me why this happens? I'll have to warn people about this in the future.
I love this map!!! I chose a village/plains island!!!!! Im gunna re instal to get another
In the next update you're going to be able to change your spawnpoint to a different island to start over again. So you will not have WTO reinstall the map. It's actually fuctional in the current version. I just didn't implement it yet.
Dude.....Map LOOKS AWESOME..better then Skyblock and the other
I love The Idea!!!
Maybe a Idea of me: Do @ the beginning of the Map a chest with 1 Sapling (or 1 of every tree idk... )
1 Grass
1Melon seed
1 Pumpkin seed
AND THATS IT!
It will make the map harder but not imposible...
i thin i will do a LP with a friend (German)!
Maybe ill post it here!
Congrats for the awesome looking Map
Rokolution!
Those items are already obtainable in the map. Are you saying to remove them from the map and just give them to the player?
