Me and my girlfriend finished your truly magnificant map!
This is our score:
And one left over gold bar.
However...
We cheated one lever. The gold is all found fair, but the Glacier Outpost... where are you supposed to find the lever to activate it? In the end we spawned one in, since we wanted to continue the great adventure. And we kinda went back and forth through the map, finding gold bars.
Great map!
I didn't even realise you made it onto the high scores! Added. Only just missed out on second place as second had 8 bars and you only had 1. Updated.

I made the best ending xD
I am a subscriber from your YouTube channel, and I was amazed with the work you had with the redstone wiring
I like the fact that it directs you at the next part, like when you can only go to the last minecart outpost if you find the axe and places like the outside garden of the mansion where it looks like natural but it has a 2 high wall so that you can't pass... And the multiple ending... that was genius!
Awesome, one of the best custom maps I have ever played!
One thing: When I put the pumpkin head and exploded the demon's heart, the next door didn't opened, so I cheated to pass that part
I must have missed your post and forgot to reply to it! Thanks for playing and you got a pretty good score.
As for the bug:
did you tickle the nerve near his stomach too (the big lava filled glass thingy)? You need to destroy both the heart and tickle that nerve for the new passage to open.
I have just completed this map, and only one word can accurately describe it: EPIC!
Here's my score:
The first video of my playthrough is also currently uploading; I'll post it once it's online.
Could be a while. You know what Aussie internet is like, Jig :tongue.gif:.
EDIT~ Here we go:

The only bug I found (which may have since been fixed, the map is now at v1.4, my playthrough is using v1.2) was in the cart station room - there is a way to jump into the sand-hidden signage section, which is only supposed to be revealed later on (you'll see what I mean if you watch my videos). I found it in my quest for gold bars!
I'm getting tired of playing these maps. Why is it always me that should "save the world"?? *sigh* Do that, go there., don't do so... I'm an adult, for Pete's sake... I do what I please
I'm far from being finished with this map, but I think I've played enough to grade it. This is a big adventure concerning a village and it's problem with a big house. Yet again you take on the role of being a combination of Indiana Jones, Napoleon Solo, Insp Gadget and Batman. And you don't know why as usual. That's some of the drawbacks on this map. The build is splendid and the problems/puzzles are very very good. I always give extra points for NPC:s, even if they are pumpkin heads. The story is actually rather entertaining, if you can remember it. The enormous forest of signs makes you forget what you're doing. And since you're not sure why, you're losing the thread. There's also a river of don'ts, things you can't do until you have the proper tool. If so, they never tested a sign! To summerize this review: if I knew who I am, and why I should do the villagers work, and if I could at least remember the main story, and if I would find it interesting to find the proper tool before I could continue the story I've forgotten, and if I found some new motivator, then this map would get 1 point more. Now it's a 9/10.
Loved it! I agree with a lot of your points though I think that it's more an issue of the genre and ability of Minecraft itself to tell an awesome story than an issue with the map and the story itself. I considered using external "Notes" but I HATE those so tonnes of signs it unfortunatley needs to be.
As for back story, I did consider adding one, but they're more or less superfluous. Does it really matter why you're there? You're helping people in need! Plus it would also add to the mass amount of signs that are already there.
I'm bummed you didn't get to the end though. The different endings is one of the main draws for the map. Though that said I'm glad you reviewed it. Always a good read :smile.gif:
I agree with you, it's really about the limitations of Minecraft. And if you read Rsmalecs Survey, you see that most players do want signs. NPC:s do the trick, but if you play like I do, you read all the signs, before you actually do anything. Then it's hard to remember. :biggrin.gif:
Yeah it can, I was a bit worried at first actually because there is so many rules that are different to every other adventure map. I mean I basically have to bash into everyones head that it ISNT ok to break clay. Which is super hard for people not to do since nearly every adventure map allows it from the start but I prefer it to be a way to advance that isn't simply "jump over this pit" in linear fashion. There is very few ways to have a hub that prevents people from advancing the way you want them to without putting in limitations. If Minecraft had a system that actually actively prevented people from breaking clay with anything but a shovel it would be ok. But people can break any block with their bare hands. Which makes it tough. Luckily most people are getting it but I've seen a few let's plays so far that take liberties in the rules and in one case completely destroyed the linearity of the map and then deemed the map broken because of it. Minecraft could be an amazing platform for adventure creating with a few more tools at our disposal. Including bigger signs!
Yes, it's all about being the hero. But I'm no hero 24/7. And it's nothing new. What if you're there of a special reason, (want to kill your father, want to find your sister, want to drown your pet hamster, (I can go on quite a long time)). What if one of the pumpkin heads know?? What if the only way to do your special thing, is to help the village in the process???
Funny you say that, originally I had the idea that you came to the village to meet your uncle and that the old man actually was him (major twist at the end!) but due to the limitations on story telling and the mass amounts of signs I would have needed to have that story and the main village story going at the same time I had to cut pretty much all of it and have only a skeleton left of what it was going to be.
Hey, as I wrote, I'm not finished with this one.
:wink.gif:
This I am glad with. Let me know how you enjoy the ending(s) :smile.gif:
Well, I managed to beat my highscore and the score that beat mine... ...and break the jar again... xD
...Is it safe to say I am officially addicted to this map? xD;
Also, I found two birch trees that if you chop down, allow access to past the barrier. [Here and here]
That and on both of my plays the minecart station liked messing up on me. I never said anything last time because I thought I probably messed something up. After a couple of uses, sometimes the minecarts won't be brought up when you press the "Call cart" button. And once I pressed the button and the mechanism spit out 5 carts at once. x___X
And I noticed that you said earlier on in the thread that you must have missed a chest where you fight the demon; once the TNT finished flinging itself at me, I went around and found multiple chests with gold in it in the area you could go. I didn't really count how many though.
And although I knew how everything went and the plot, my second play-through of the map was fun~ ^^
I'm glad you had fun even though you must have played the map to death to do it twice with so much gold! I'll update the scoreboard and I have added your things to my bug list. Hopefully I can get another update out tomorrow.

But there isn't even any food in the mansion?!?@ Maybe she's dieting? Thanks for the bump anyway :tongue.gif:

As for the bug:
Yeaah, I'm currently working on correcting that currently... >3
Although I'm failing at the BRF puzzle... again... OTL
lol, you can do it! I even have a video of me doing it on my channel xD search for BRF I think it's episode 10

Also awesome score and let's play. I'll add you to the list :smile.gif:
