Heads up map people... "I decided to restore @notch's old Golden Apple and give it an effect proper for its crafting cost". -Jeb via twitter
Am I the only one seeing Nightmare Realm about to get a lot easier with the obscene amount of trees and Gold?
Yay, more than the shitty four seconds of regen. I wonder what kind of effect is worth 72 gold ingots, though.
I'm thinking they'll use it as a omni-potion, where eating the one apple gives you regen, strength and speed.
But flying would be cool (admittedly still seems kinda OP, even though the cost). Or maybe one of those unused potion effects they've been trying to hide.
Now, my experience with Hardcore is nearly zero. I never thought I'd be able to complete it on hardcore, so I dowloaded variant E.
As soon as I noticed the start was different (well, easier - obviously) though, I changed my mind. I wanted to try the original challenge first!
So I decided to play on a state-saving system. I was going to make a file backup before beginning every dungeon. That way, when I died, I'd have to make all the progress on that dungeon again. I know, that's cheating, but again guys, I never intented to complete it without dying even once. I know I don't have the ability of doing so.
Playing a Vechs map on Hardcore is really something. So tense.
As long as it was natural spawners though, I was okay. Or even one or two spawners here and there.
I've even beat the white wool, legit! I was so proud of myself. o.o
I couldn't believe after making through my first blaze spawner without dying even once! &--#60;3 (I know it isn't much, but for a non-hardcore player like me, well. It was much. XD)
I made a small base at the forest with a bunch of dogs and food and everything I needed. When I found the second dungeon, though... Ugh.
It was a kind of a small fortress in the middle of the desert, and a cave system underneath it. Again, as far as natural spawning goes, I was mostly okay. After that, finding the sandstone tunnels was the death of me. Literally. Many times.
Still, my last backup was at the entrance. I plan to go through the whole dungeon without dying.
Let's see if I'm able to... TT_TT
Also.
I've found my favorite method of dealing with blazes, specially in an area where there's other spawners.
1 - Wait safely for some blazes to spawn.
2 - Get yourself a fire resist. potion.
3 - ????
4 - Profit!
Now you have your own blaze army!
Run in like a mad man and enjoy all the blazes trying to hit you at once, missing and hitting other mobs instead.

I AM THE BLAZE OVERLOR-- UH, OVERLADY.
Good luck. I played Lethamyr for a LP and I did backups before dungeons too. I only died twice total. (once in the red dungeon and once in the black dungeon) I would recommend tunneling underground for iron for some armor for you. The sandstone dungeon is one of the harder ones for being the second dungeon.
Which maps have you imposed the special super hostile rules on?
Each map has rules, except for Super Docile, which has only "Suggestions". The rules are mostly the same: Only Hostile Trails and The Multiplayer-maps have other rules. or do you mean the special rules like insomnia? Then: none yet. Fallen Kingdom is going to have Insomnia. But you could always play after these rules if you want to.

You can fly for a limited period of time? :3
WHAT?!
Danger zone.

Do they have Red Bull in Sweden?
we have it in norway,
so they probably have it in sweden too
Punchwood (snort) Islands Plus
Super Docile #2

IMHO, it's mediocre. It doesn't have newer items in it -- you could probably find a better Terraria adventure map.
But if you just want a big dungeon and castle to fight in and get some older "high tier" loot, then go for it.
IT IS EATING MY SOUL!
Eat the map or the map will eat you.
A reckoning is not to be postponed indefinitely. Lacre cannot bury the law. All shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.
