i have a sky kingdom now hahaha
because every time i claim a land, it happens on the sky
it was pretty fun
In that matter I think that the terrain claim should NOT flatten the ground, just surround it with the territory mark (fences or walls) but maintaining the original landscape.
I think it's more fair and gives the mod more reality, also make it a bit more entertaining... after all you will have to reshape everything and all... or you can make your kingdom in nature's shape. LOL...
As for the building issues this could imply, just make the buildings flatten the terrain on the level of the construction box, but just the construction area... this way we could build kingdoms like MC vanilla villages... I THINK this should do the work and shouldn't be too hard to code...
Anyway... that's my suggestion and opinion on how to make the mod more awesome and realistic. =D
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
And even though the darkness dawns... Brighter days will follow!
I think the building should be more realstic. Like a villager will walk up to the construction site and it will start building. Its kinda weird just that a building appears out of thin air.

I don't think "realistic" is the right word for it. We ARE talking about floating rocks here after all.
I had some time on my hands so I decided to make a few prototype buildings. I made two small houses, a small shop, a warehouse and a granary. I tried to make them similar in style to the buildings you get the starting town. Feel free to give me some feedback.
From left to right: Very small house, small house, small shop, warehouse and granary.
i have noticed when accessing a shop gui my mouse disappears until i move it to the top where the x button is. could you look at this and see if it is a bug or just a faulty install?

I looked at the buildings and they are pretty nice for a prototype! Though I agree they look really symmetrical though. I wonder what are your thoughts of using the tale of kingdoms 1 buildings?
I'm having trouble when I enter the GUI for this mod the cursor goes away and I'm unable to navigate the GUI cause I cant see were my cursor is. Is there a way to fix it?
I made some small edits to make the houses look less symmetrical. I also added a lantern with glowstone to the shop because I feel there is a need to distinguish shops from houses.
To be honest I really don't like the buildings in Tale of Kingdoms 1. Not the ones in the kingdom anyway. Almost all of them are too dark and have far too little floor space for their size. I like buildings that use their space efficiently, so buildings that are large enough to fit two more floors than they do aren't really my style. It kind of made them look "fake" in my opinion, as behind the outer appearance were often mostly empty buildings.
And then there's the moment when you realize the inn has beds of stone and a floor of wool...
While looking through the building sets that are linked in the OP I found out that most of those buildings come from Novv's old bundle. I always thought that the wrongly aligned doors were an issue with the way the mod built them, since other similar mods all had such bugs at some point, but now I noticed that they are actually like that in the original bundle as well?
I noticed you used items frames and that got me thinking again. I avoided them in my build along with paintings because I don't know if they are supported (since they are entities and not blocks). It would be nice to know if the mod is capable of dealing with them and, if not, whether such support will be added later.
The thing is, as long as its pleasant in the eyes, it works in my opinion. But either way as the poll suggests, many people wants the design as is. Maybe a few edits to the building could help with the dilemas

here's the pic of my floating kingdom
Hmm.. given this premise, I wonder if making the bottom ragged so it really looks like a floating kingdom.
uhhmm?
what do you mean?
Like make it look realistic, not just some floating block
oh i get it hahaha
Just a suggestion, the buildings are a bit square. Also Tyber, expect a few buildings from me!
Admiral Ackbar : Its a bug!
You might want to make the fountains round, just suggesting,
i like the small house, i think it's perfect for a commoners house
